“A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.” – Lao Tzu
Our family summer holiday was amazing this year—a much-needed reset for all three of us.
Yes, there were delayed flights, unboarding and reboarding, and near misses on trains and trolleys—but even those became unexpected gifts: extra time to simply be with my husband and son. No crazy schedules, just a sense of adventure (and a healthy dose of humor).
Between the excursions, the views, and the slow, easy mornings—despite every travel blog insisting the day must start with the sunrise—we had a perfect time.
There’s something magical about making memories and experiencing new things when you truly unplug and create space for them to surface. No inbox. No Appointments. No rushing. Just being present.
I’ve often heard, “The way you do one thing is the way you do everything,” and that rings true right down to my coaching style and its three core elements:
🌱 Grounding – staying present and steady, even when I might miss the next flight or train.
🎯 Aligned Action – making the next best choice when plans change (like discovering our loft had no AC).
💡 Purpose – keeping the “why” front and center: to explore, experience something new, and have FUN.
Travel (and life) aren’t about sticking to the plan—they’re about embracing the moments, planned or not, and finding joy in the detours.
What would your life look like six months from now if you anchored yourself and began taking inspired steps toward what truly matters?
