We are so proud of the results that our patients have been able to achieve through the years thanks to our weight management services. When this patient first visited our office, he had been struggling with excess weight and high blood pressure for years.

After two years of working diligently with Dr. Jim Wheeler, he was able to lose over 200 pounds. This was done with a combination of Zepbound®, exercise, and healthy eating. He was able to come off of his longtime blood pressure medication and feels so much better. He is more active, sleeping better, and generally feels much healthier.

Our “Mini Bites” series, focusing on healthy eating and healthy snack recipes, will include cooking demonstrations and tastings with our own Dr. Leah Macklin and health coach, Susan Bleyle! One Friday session per month from 8/8 through 12/5.

Check out these pics from our most recent Lifestyle Medicine Group Visit session at Family Practice Center Buford this past Friday. The goal of this session was to present healthy eating (and cooking!) options for people with diabetes or prediabetes. Some of the dishes made included this delicious Vegan Tempeh Reuben as well as homemade Vegan Ice Cream (blueberry and chocolate)!

The theme of this session was promoting Heart Health, and included cooking demonstrations of heart-healthy dishes like Sesame Quinoa Salad and Cherry and Acai Smoothie Bowls!

We were honored to feature a live cooking demonstration (with tasting!) led by Food For Life health coach Susan Bleyle, as well as a panel on personal goal-setting with our own , a Diplomate of Lifestyle Medicine, Dr. Leah Macklin.
