Last night we hosted our first Mini-Health and Resource Fair at Wolf Creek Library in South Fulton! We considered this pilot event a success and will be back on November 15th with more resources and vendors (based on what last night’s attendees asked for)! The Wolf Creek branch marks the 3rd library in metro-Atlanta to collaborate with on monthly Mini-Health and Resource Fairs! Their collaboration shows they believe in supporting healthy communities! 📚❤️

Yesterday, we closed out September at the Scott Candler Library in Decatur 🥳 There were FREE flu shots just ahead of flu season, a mental health and self love vendor, DeKalb County health resources, info on signing up for the Grady Trauma Project (link in our story), a food allergy expert, and living will and legal assistance. Yesterday’s Mini-Health and Resource Fair had it all! We even had finger foods provided by Emory University (Grady Trauma Project Team).
Check out the videos and pics below! Join us next month (October 30) at the Scott Candler Library for another great event!

WHAT ARE PEOPLE SAYING??

In the latest iHeard survey, Atlanta residents were asked, “Many things affect the lives of people living in Atlanta. If you could address one of the challenges below, which do you think would have the greatest benefit for Atlanta?” Respondents selected from nine issues known as social determinants of health.

Key findings:
Addressing “cost of living” was selected by 40% of respondents, followed by housing (20%), jobs (13%), and sense of community or isolation/loneliness (8%).

Women were more likely than men to prioritize cost of living (42% vs. 30%), as were people with children in their household compared to those without (49% vs. 33%).

People without children in their household were more likely than those with children to select housing (28% vs. 11%), while those with children were more likely to select jobs (19% vs. 8%).
