We got our residents several streaming options - Youtubetv, Paramountplus Showtime, Peacock , Amazon Prime, among others .
Good news for NFL fans - we renewed NFL Sunday Pass. Now we got MUBI for independent film lovers . Heard about The Substance? Well it plays only on MUBI.

Was in a McDonald’s drive thru for 15 min with no movement . Was trapped when I wanted to leave because of the cars behind me . Finally the car in front of me moved allowing me to escape out of there without an order. The excuse was they were short staffed with only 3 in there .
Funny , many of these same type of places jerk around my residents with lack of hours and yet they get short staffed . You get the kind of employees you deserve when you treat them like crap .
We have tried to help retailers around us with our ability to provide oversight on absenteeism and sobriety. One or two have taken our folks and prospered. The others who didn’t, continue to have issues .

This month , Apex Max is 7 years old. What started off as a dare and a challenge turned out to be something bigger than I envisioned.
This continues to be a tough field with a low long term success rate . However , I am pleased with how stable our resident population has been in recent months which is the result of tireless work by my staff - John Butler , Leann Burton and Al Wunder . Scott Horowitz is our outreach director and has been instrumental in getting connections developed with many organizations and outfits like Williams House, Good Landing , Cobb Outpatient Detox, etc. and the latest collaboration with Mohammad Sanu.
We evolved from apartments in Sandy Springs to owning our own houses in clean neighborhoods in Roswell. I am pretty confident our female resident house is one of the finest sober houses in all of georgia.
With our large staff to resident ratio, we offer personalised attention unmatched at our price level.
We continue to make every effort to improve. We are not content with just graduating folks through a program. Just one look at how management teams and workforces around the country operate , you can see the shortage of employees dealing successfully with addiction or mental health or family related issues. I feel sober living homes have to evolve to nurture not just folks to get sober but improve their character and behavior.
That means our style has to evolve . The economy has been a mystery in the post pandemic era. There are opportunities to succeed but it will require creativity, reliability , commitment and persistence. We hope to help you improve in those areas.
A big thxnk you to sll the residents that played a part in our success.
We will have our annual party soon. Details to follow.

We now use 20 panel drug screens . We also have 16 panel oral swabs for anyone that can’t go or if we need to randomize how we test and eliminate any possibility of people faking their tests.
So many good 4:25 games today . We have NFL Sunday Ticket . Eagles Steelers on at Apex, not on local FOX . Use multiview to watch the Bills Detroit game too .

One of our non profit partners is looking to fund half the fees for single men with kids 21 or under . Must have a decent stretch of sobriety and be willing to sign a commitment contract to be eligible for such a grant . They prefer 6 months of sobriety .
Contact us if you are looking for a spot and think you can qualify . We will expect a high level of commitment and the willingness to behave consistent in a classy manner . Work ethic is importsnt.

Last month , Apex Max completed 6 years .
It’s been a very interesting journey so far. The success stories have been great to witness. We have gotten better at putting the failures in perspective and learning from them.
John Butler has been with us for 5 and half of those years . Al Wunder has been with us for more than 2 and half years . Leann Burton had been with us for more than a year . Scott Horowitz, our latest addition, is on course for a long tenure .
By comparison, we cycled through 3 recovery managers/ directors in the first 6 months . So I value the stability the current team brings .
Our anniversary party will be on the evening of the 14th of September. If you are alumni or one of our external well wishers , please reach out to staff for an invite.
Or you can email apexmaxga@gmail.com

Regarding Tyler’s post, we have an issue with a squatter , it will be great to have a shared list for squatters too. I think a squatter can destroy your sober living as they can do whatever they want including getting high until they get evicted .
My only leverage in such cases is we can black list him . Obviously, I believe such a blacklist should be transparent so a shady operator doesn’t do it out of pettiness to a resident . The people on the list can be given an opportunity to respond the response saved on the list .

“Praveen, you are craaazy, maaan!!” . That’s the first thing my buddy told me last year when I told him I was starting a sober living program. I never took a drug in my life. In college, I had friends who took pot listening to the same Dark Side of the Moon CD every single night. Or another Pink Floyd CD. I am not a regular drinker of alcohol. What I do know about myself is I have always been able to relate to a whole variety of people even if I could not understand why they did what they did, at times.
So why is a guy who rarely takes even painkillers after surgery end up as someone who decided to start this sober living program? If have to get to the point, it is all about helping people achieve happiness in life and get the most they can out of life. And the business of sober living is not just about recovery even if it’s a big part of what we deal with. It’s also about preparing people to live life sober but without as many rules as they would have in rehab. We want you make smarter financial decisions. Network with your peers and learn about better jobs. Have dreams for your kids beyond where they are just treading water and feeling content.
It’s about reasserting and reintroducing the American Dream to many who have forgotten what it is about. I spend my day working on veterans healthcare software solutions. I want to bring some of those software solutions to the world of sober living.
I am not afraid to make mistakes. The key is can you learn from those mistakes fast enough and respond with better solutions. I believe I have done that with Apex Max. I promise to assemble the best people I know that can help my residents with their issues. With John Butler, I am off to a good start for 2019 and Jessica M. has been invaluable giving us insight into the local recovery scene. Oh, and we not only are our residents subject to drug screens but also my administrators.
My background is in healthcare software and business analysis. I hope to use those skills to improve our workflows with technology to take this business to the next level.
