A MIDLIFE METABOLISM MAKEOVER is about healing your body at the cellular level so you can live your life with passion, purpose, confidence, and energy.

At 58 I felt broken. My joints were constantly inflammed making movement difficult. I had painful bloating. Couldn't sleep. My weight was at an all-time high and my depression was unmanageable. I honestly felt hopeless.

I thought I knew the solution for change because I had dieted for 38 years. You know the drill, eat less, do more cardio. Avoid the foods I loved. I did every diet under the sun. Weight Watchers at 13 (goodbye hormone development), calorie counting, keto, low-fat, low-carb, cabbage soup (yes, really) – all of it. I lost weight. I gained it back plus more. I felt like a failure.

Then I found a program that sounded different. It was a lifestyle, not a diet. It was science-backed. It was about fueling my body with the right balance of nutrition (macronutrients) to boost my metabolism and heal my body. To build small sustainable habits to build physical and mental strength.

When you track alcohol accurately, you’re able to stay mindful of your goals, embrace balance, and adjust your meals accordingly.

It’s important to note that alcohol has big effects on your fat loss journey by slowing your metabolism, disrupting sleep, and messing with your hormones.

This isn’t to say you shouldn’t enjoy yourself but to make sure you’re intentional and purposeful when you do decide to drink.

People often seem to believe the MYTH that you can eat whatever you want as long as you exercise, but this is not the case.

GOOD fitness is like building a puzzle. You might make some progress, but only part of the puzzle is complete without all the pieces.

It's IMPORTANT to prioritize good nutrition and adequate rest to meet our fitness GOALS.

Studies have shown that poor sleep can lower your metabolism. Keeping your gut in check also plays into overall wellness with research showing that people with less diverse microbiome can suffer from obesity. The body is all connected so if your guts outta whack your hormones are outta whack.

If you are not eating the right foods you are not keeping your microbiome homeostatic and may start to have an overgrowth of bad bacteria.

Eating right also your gut flora to synthesize all the nutrients in the food you are eating so it can be burned by your body as a source of fuel. When we don't eat right then we produce more hunger hormones despite just consuming what we consider to be a big meal.

Weight loss is NOT the only pro when it comes to prioritizing our health.

We gain ENERGY, mental clarity, and a boost to our productivity. If you have decided it is too hard and rather hold on to those few extra pounds don't because there's so much more to gain aside from the satisfaction you get when you like the number you see when you step on the scale.

As of 2021, Approximately 20 million people have been diagnosed with food allergies in the US- this includes adults and children.

The confusing verbiage makes eating whole foods all the more appealing, especially for anyone suffering from food allergies.

Food items labeled as "may contain" do not specify a countable or measurable quantity of the listed allergens.

Not only are you ensuring to avoid potential allergens in processed foods you're also avoiding all the other negative effects that come with consuming them:

-bloat
-certain cancers
-obesity
-type 2 diabetes

Stay full longer and get more energy with whole foods! They don't call it a sugar high for nothing. You will get a short burst of energy but it won't get you through the day without feeling groggy and fatigued.

Quick and easy are two of the main selling points for a large variety of foods available to the busy on-the-go people living in the US.

The easier option will come back to bite us later on in the you-know-what.

Not only do we need all the nutrients that we get from eating whole foods now to keep our bodies running in optimal condition. We are also working to offset the side effects of aging like muscle wasting also known as atrophy.

New studies have found that some of these easy meals we have come to know and maybe even love have been linked to increased risks of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease.

Yet we still eat it in a survey done by Health Digest in November 2022 they found that 50.98 percent said they ate fast food one to two times a week!

I have spent the majority of my life on different diet plans. Sure I lost weight but I never kept it off.

Turns out I didn't need to diet I needed a lifestyle change.

The discovery I made about my perk beverages is why it is so important to READ the nutrition facts on things we buy at the grocery store.

It is one thing to read these labels but you must also decipher what the label is actually saying.

Companies are in the business to make money and frequently will use confusing wordage and other gimmicks to make the product appeal to consumers.

The lack of dysfunction and care gripping the FDA has claimed around 3,000 LIVES annually as a result of foodborne illnesses.

Labels will a lot of the time use synonyms for less desirable ingredients like sugar. When an ingredient list is two or three lines long it is better to avoid it because that means the product is HIGHLY processed.

Considering the FDA does NOT take the oath it has taken to serve and protect the citizens of the USA we must turn to whole foods now more than ever so we can maintain happy, healthy, and sustainable lives.

A lot of people get bored of salads fast because most diets have salads as the primary food multiple times a day per week.

The egg and chicken give you protein, which we need for a variety of bodily functions such as building and repairing tissues, making enzymes and hormones, supporting immune function, and acting as a source of energy when carbohydrates and fats are not available.

It's crucial for overall health, muscle growth, and maintenance, as well as for proper organ function and a healthy immune system.

The berries provide support for a healthy heart, skin, digestion, and brain function, and help lower your risks for certain cancers.

The leafy greens support strong bones and heart health. Greens make a smart choice because they are high in fiber and low in calories keeping you full and satisfied longer.
