And just like that... a small business that brought light into dark, movement into stillness, and happiness into gloom is gone. Gone because of greed. We didn't want to go, but we had to. There are many objective reasons why our doors closed and we know none of them are because of our lack of support, care, or need in the community.
Through the woes and wows, we always had YOU in mind. We refuse to increase our pricing 50%+ a month to accommodate higher rent prices for new uninterested property owners in the summer. We refuse to let our parking lot be used and abused for various construction projects for two+ more years. We refuse to be angry day in and day out that the city doesn't care about its little guys that actually make the town what it is. We refuse to allow your dollar to go to others who aren't aware or appreciative of the culture we created.
To each person who dropped by on Monday and Tuesday to assist us, we could never be more grateful. What took my husband and I 3 months to build with our own hands and dollars was packed up and vanished in a matter of hours. Traumatic doesn't really describe it. But it's close. Having you all there made it easier for me to get through. You'll never know.
To each member and bundle user and occasional drop in, I could never express the amount of support and strength you provided always and these past few days. I have read every message and will be printing them out to remind me on the tough days.
