Join me for “Restoring Rest,” a transformative postpartum wellness talk in honor of Black Maternal Health Week—a time to center, uplift, and empower Black mothers in their postpartum journey.

Too often, Black mothers are expected to push through exhaustion, neglect their healing, and carry the weight of motherhood alone. But true wellness begins with rest, restoration, and radical self-care. This conversation will explore the emotional, physical, and mental well-being of Black mothers in the postpartum period, tackling critical topics like:

💛 Breaking Generational Cycles of Burnout – Reclaiming rest as a necessity, not a luxury.
🖤 Healing After Birth – Addressing postpartum mood changes, anxiety, and depression in the Black maternal experience.
🤎 The Village Effect – Finding and fostering community support to avoid isolation.
💛 Advocating for Your Health – Navigating medical spaces with confidence and accessing culturally affirming care.

This is more than a talk—it’s a space for Black mothers to breathe, connect, and be seen. Whether you’re a new mom, a seasoned mother, or a birthworker supporting postpartum wellness, this event will leave you feeling empowered, informed, and held.

📅 Date: April 9, 2025
⏰ Time: 12 noon EST
📍 Location: Virtual
📩 Register: saferbirthsnow.com

Come rest, restore, and reclaim your wellness. Because when Black mothers thrive, our entire community rises. ✨

🌻March - Pregnancy after Loss Awareness

✨Three seasons changed while I was on bed rest during my pregnancy—
🍂 Fall: A season of release.
❄️ Winter: A season of surrender.
🌸 Spring: A season of renewal.

Looking at this picture, I wonder what I was thinking in that moment. I know I felt sadness and isolation from being on bed rest. I had prayed and worked so hard for this pregnancy, but I wasn’t prepared for the intensity of emotions that came with it—the hypersensitivity, the panic attacks before every doctor’s appointment, and the constant fear that something else would go wrong.

I remember thinking, If I can just make it past my first trimester, I’ll finally be able to relax and enjoy this pregnancy. Then it became, If I can just make it past my second… and then, If I can just make it past my third… The truth is, I never got to enjoy my pregnancy at all. When my daughter was finally here, I felt relief—but also grief. I felt robbed of an experience I had longed for.

💛I am so grateful for my friends who, in my eighth month, showed up for me—helping with my belly casting and designing little outfits for my photoshoot. Even in my joy, I carried so much anxiety and fear. I was afraid to fully attach to my baby because… what if she left me? The weight of that fear, along with anxiety and depression, was overwhelming.
It is powerful to be witnessed, to be held, and to be seen. 💛

If you are on the path of building your family after pregnancy loss, currently pregnant after loss, or navigating postpartum, please know that healing is possible. With the right support, you can move through the fear of trying to conceive again or pregnancy itself—and reach a place of living in the present.

You deserve to thrive through your pregnancy. Reach out today for support. Call 470 344-9962 to schedule your consultation 💛
