Microgrant Research Alert! 📊📚

Recently, two of our previous microgrant recipients presented their research at conferences. Lisa Landry and Ashley Kennedy, who were awarded a 2023 EmWELL Microgrant, presented research on their Serenity Room at the 16th Annual Winship Cancer Institute Oncology Nursing Symposium in August 2025. Shelly Abramowicz and Ashley Gagnon, 2024 EmWELL Microgrant awardees, also had the opportunity to present preliminary data on their project, Enhanced Stress Resilience Training for Maxillofacial Surgery Residents, at the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons Conference in May 2025.

When you go to eat at an Cafe on the Emory University Hospital or Emory University Orthopedic and Spine Hospital campuses, you might see lettuce and think nothing of it. But what you may not know is the lettuce on your plate is delivered from local farms through a partnership with . Spearheaded by Chef Mike Bacha and Kip Hardy in 2016, this partnership has resulted in almost $100,000 spent across 10 local farms just in 2024 alone. And it’s not just the lettuce; sweet potatoes, tomatoes, fruit, and cheese are items sourced through The Common Market partnership as well. Mike and Kip’s dedication to bringing more local, plant-based food options to employee plates strengthens our local food system and community. Talk about well-being for ourselves and our community! 🥬🍅🍏🍠
