MAJOR 2026 CHANGES TO MEDICARE

Premiums & Deductibles (Parts A & B) Rise

* For Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)’ 2026 schedule, the Part A inpatient hospital deductible will increase to $1,736 (up $60 from 2025)

* Coinsurance costs for extended hospital stays and skilled-nursing care also go up (e.g., daily hospital coinsurance for days 61–90 rises to $434).

* For beneficiaries who pay a monthly Part A premium (those without sufficient work history), the 2026 rates will increase to $311 (reduced rate) or $565 (full rate), up from 2025.

* For Medicare Part B (doctor/outpatient coverage): the standard monthly premium becomes $202.90 (up from $185.00), and the annual deductible rises to $283 (up from $257).

* Beneficiaries with higher incomes will see greater monthly premiums due to income-related surcharges (IRMAA).
