It’s almost conference time and you don’t want to miss out on not only the BEST conference in GA, but the most amazing Pre-Conference Sessions. Our first pre-conference highlight is our Mosaic of Voices on Wednesday, November 12, from 9:00 a.m. - 12 p.m. This session will be presented by three amazing school counseling leaders: Dr. Maritza Cha, Ricardo Lyons and Nicholas Wozniak.

Join us for an engaging and solution-focused session designed for school counselors who are committed to fostering inclusive, informed, and equitable learning environments. This dynamic pre-conference experience will feature a series of mini-presentations from expert voices and community leaders, each offering unique insights into key topics such as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), immigration policies impacting students and families, the evolving needs of LGBTQ+ youth, and best practices for supporting students with disabilities.

Drumroll please!!!! GSCA is pleased to announce the 2025 GSCA School Counselor of the Year, Shayla Thompson and Semi Finalists Chiquita Jones and April West. In addition, GSCA is pleased to announce the 2025 GSCA Professional Recognition Awards, which includes Counselor Educator of the Year, Supervisor of the Year, Emerging Leader of the Year, Writers of the Year, Business Partners of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award! Congratulations to all!

We will celebrate all of the winners on Wednesday, November 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the GSCA Conference in Macon. Congratulations to all!

New schools counselors with 1-3 years of experience can join GSCA for the September Mentoring webinar today, Tuesday, September 30 from 11 a.m - 12 p.m. Our session leaders will answer questions that you have and offer the support you need to maximize your impact as a school counselor.

In addition, don’t forget to join GSCA RAMP office hours TONIGHT, Tuesday, September 30 from 6:30 p.m - 7:30 p.m. The topics will include:
• The benefits of achieving RAMP
• The 10 components of the RAMP application
• Strategies for data collection and preparing your application

Invite them to join GSCA for the September Mentoring webinar on Tuesday, September 30 from 11 a.m - 12 p.m. New counselors with 1-3 years of experience are encouraged to join and learn from experienced school counselors leading this session. They will answer questions that you have and offer the support you need to maximize your impact as a school counselor. Even though this event is encouraged for new counselors, all Georgia Counselors who are GSCA members are welcome to attend.

School Counselors, get ready to be inspired! It’s almost conference time and we are ending in Macon on a high note! The conference finale promises to be a powerful closing keynote speaker, Dianne Andree, a dynamic and energetic speaker and trainer who brings 25+ years of mental health experience. Dianne has served as a school counselor at the elementary level in a rural and suburban setting, as well as a charter faculty member of a high school counseling team, before becoming the director of Counseling and Advisement in two districts before her retirement.

Dianne will be GSCA’s closing keynote speaker on Friday, November 14 at 10:30 a.m.
