HAMSA Helps

HAMSA Helps A comprehensive substance abuse program that is building bridges between Jews in recovery.

HAMSA, or Helping Atlantans Manage Substance Abuse, is a comprehensive substance abuse program for the Jewish community that is building bridges between Jews affected by substance abuse and their families and the support of the Jewish community. Together with clergy and members of the community, JF&CS’s HAMSA program is working to dispel the myth that Jews are not affected by substance abuse and addiction issues. HAMSA serves the community as an all-inclusive resource for education and clinical services relating to substance abuse.

JF&CS will be closed in observance of Juneteenth. We will reopen on Thursday, June 20th.

Juneteenth is a day to remember and honor the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States in 1865. It is believed to be the oldest holiday celebrated by the African American community since 1866 and was proclaimed a national holiday of observance on June 17th, 2021.

At JF&CS, we are deeply committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion in the workplace, and in keeping with our agency's Jewish values, we are proud to recognize and honor Juneteenth as an agency holiday.
