Congratulations to Zaena Harris, a 2025 Do Amazing Things Scholarship recipient!
Zaena is a junior at Luella High School and the very definition of heart, hustle, and leadership. Born with cataracts in her right eye and undergoing surgery at just 4 years old, she has never let partial vision slow her down. Instead, Zaena works harder than most—excelling in three varsity sports (softball, flag football, and track & field), serving as Vice President of the Student Government Association, and maintaining a 3.7 GPA in high school while dual-enrolled at Georgia State University, where she holds a 4.0 GPA.
This year, Zaena was named Region Pitcher of the Year, and she continues to receive accolades for her dedication on and off the field. She also serves on both the School and County Student Athlete Advisory Councils and is the manager for the baseball team—all while volunteering at elementary schools and food banks across state lines.
Zaena’s inspiration comes from her family—her strong and selfless mother, her sister who reignited her passion for softball, and her wise and quiet grandmother. She says: “Doing amazing things means going beyond what’s expected, making a difference for others, and always striving to be better.”
And her future? She hopes to become a pediatrician, combining her love for helping others with her passion for making people feel seen, heard, and healed.
Zaena, your perseverance, service, and joy are contagious. You are the type of leader every team and community needs.
