Our residents have been enjoying the fresh air and sunshine as they work together preparing the garden for the upcoming planting season. With gloves on and smiles all around, they helped turn the soil, clear the beds, and get everything ready for flowers and vegetables to grow. Gardening brings not only beauty to our community but also wonderful opportunities for residents to stay active, share memories of gardens from years past, and look forward to watching their hard work bloom in the weeks ahead. 🌱🌼

Residents at Dunwoody Place recently gathered to enjoy the uplifting sounds of live music, filling the room with smiles, clapping hands, and even a few dancing feet. Live music is more than entertainment—it plays an important role in supporting memory and cognitive health for seniors. Familiar songs often spark powerful memories, helping residents recall special moments from their past, whether it’s a favorite tune from their youth or a song that reminds them of family and celebrations. Music engages multiple areas of the brain at once, encouraging emotional connection, mental stimulation, and social interaction. Moments like these remind us that music truly is a bridge to memory, bringing joy, comfort, and connection to our residents here at Dunwoody Place. 🎶

Our new Life Enrichment Partner jumped right in this afternoon and had our residents up and moving in no time! With energy, encouragement, and just the right amount of humor, she led a focused shoulder workout that had everyone feeling the burn — ouch! From gentle shoulder rolls to arm lifts and stretches, residents gave it their all, laughing through the soreness and cheering each other on. It was wonderful to see such confidence and leadership on display, and even better to see our residents embracing the challenge. Our Dunwoody Place residents enjoyed a spirited pregame meal together as they warmed up for an exciting evening out cheering on one of our local favorites — the Marist High School Girls Basketball Team as they continue their strong push through the playoffs! With full hearts and full plates, residents gathered in fellowship, sharing laughter, game predictions, and memories of their own school-day sports moments before heading out to support the Lady War Eagles. Moments like these remind us how meaningful it is to stay connected to our local Atlanta community, and our residents are proud to rally behind these talented young athletes as they represent teamwork, determination, and hometown pride. Go War Eagles! 🏀

At Dunwoody Place Assisted Living, our residents took great pride this year in not just attending—but planning, implementing, and facilitating their very own Black History Month Program from start to finish! With guidance from our Life Enrichment team, residents worked together to select influential historical figures, organize readings, lead discussions, and even assist with decorating the program space to reflect the strength, resilience, and brilliance of Black history and culture. Resident ambassadors eagerly volunteered to welcome guests, introduce presentations, and share reflections that were both educational and heartfelt. This resident-led initiative created a powerful sense of purpose and ownership, allowing participants to honor the past while inspiring meaningful conversations among their peers. It was truly a beautiful example of engagement, teamwork, and the vibrant spirit of leadership that lives right here in our Dunwoody Place community—because as we always say… we have all kinds of fun here while learning together too!
