On New Year's Day, we welcomed Cole, Adonis and Sloan - the first babies born at Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Emory Decatur Hospital and Emory University Hospital Midtown. Happy birthday to all babies born on Jan. 1, 2025, and congratulations to the parents and families of these three bundles of joy!

As the new year rang-in in metro Atlanta, Emory Healthcare celebrated the first babies born in 2025 at three of its hospitals.

April is Occupational Therapy Month! Our Occupational Therapists partner directly with our patients so that they can gain more independence and mobility based on their injuries or challenges. They work hard to ensure our patients can return to their daily routines as much as possible.

Happy Lab Week! Our lab teams work tirelessly to take samples at the bedside, process it properly, conduct testing, examine samples and much more. Most of what they do is completed behind the scenes but it is essential to the diagnosis and treatment of our patients.

Why did Aric win this award?
"Aric has gone above and beyond in many occasions, but the event that happened a couple of months ago was very impressive. He worked throughout the night diligently to confirm that the PET/CT scanner would be up and running the following day. This saved many cancer patients from having to reschedule an important time sensitive procedure. Thank you so much for surpassing our expectations and making ESJH a better place for our staff and patients."

"Carmen is the BEST manager. She invests time and energy to get to know her employees by spending time with them. She is very present on the unit and will often spend time walking around to check on staff or hanging out in the lunch room so that she knows not only what is going on in the unit but also what is going on in the personal lives of her staff. Carmen has excellent people skills and is a great listener. She is fair and can effectively communicate with her staff if there is something that could be done better. Carmen is also very supportive of their staff. Carmen is supportive and empathetic. It is a joy to work for her!"

"Sherrell always goes above and beyond. No matter how busy it gets, she makes time for every one of her patients and coworkers. She is quick to notice an issue and helps to fix it immediately. She is truly a great asset. Sherrell holds so many roles. From running a household, being the best Mom to her children, a nursing student and an employee, she juggles everything like a superwoman. When Sherrell is at work we know that all her patients are going to be well taken care of. No matter how heavy are her workload, she always makes sure to ask her coworkers if they need help. Sherrell is the epitome of teamwork."

Today, on Saint Joseph's Day, we had the honor of hosting The Most Reverend John Nhàn Trần Auxiliary Bishop of Atlanta. He led our Feast of Saint Joseph Mass for the Sick for our staff in honor of this sacred day.
