Since 2006 the PINK program has been positively impacting the lives of women journeying through recovery from breast cancer. Kudos to Alexandra and our EPs!
Breast cancer survivor Alexandra Scott credits exercise physiologists with the PINK program for the ability to carry her kids up the stairs and feel like herself again. This wellness initiative through the Piedmont Atlanta Fitness Center provides comprehensive support and fitness tailored to those undergoing breast cancer treatment.
“I went into the program thinking that I was going to be treated kind of gingerly, like a patient,” Scott said. “And I think what was really good about the program was that I was treated like someone who was capable…who had the capacity to gain strength and do hard things. I think that mindset shift was really helpful for me.”
Scott reports going from “feeling pretty miserable physically” after over 20 days of radiation to carrying her 10-year-old “up the stairs with no problem.” At the top of the stairs, her daughter said, “You’re strong, Mom!”
