Give a warm welcome to Popcorn, the newest facility dog at Wellstar Golisano Children’s Hospital of Georgia! The 2-year-old golden retriever and labradoodle mix was celebrated with a popcorn-themed party filled with smiles, crafts and cuddles. Popcorn will primarily support patients in pediatric outpatient specialty clinics, bringing joy and a calming presence to children and families when they need it most. We are grateful to our patients, families and community for helping kick off Popcorn’s journey of healing hearts, one paw at a time. At Kennesaw State University’s annual Teddy Bear Drive, the spirit of the Owls soared through the air just like the bears that landed on the court during the women’s basketball game. These cuddly teddy bears, donated by fans, are now making their way to young patients at Wellstar Children's of Georgia Pediatric Center in Kennesaw where they’ll bring much-needed comfort and joy. Thank you to the KSU community for coming together to support these special patients.

This week, we dedicated the newly renovated lobby at Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia to Dr. Charles Howell, who recognized the need for a children’s hospital in Augusta and was instrumental in transforming our facility into a leader in pediatric care. Throughout his 40-year career as a pediatric surgeon, Dr. Howell has performed over 16,000 procedures and served as a champion for the health and well-being of Georgia’s children. Read more.

Congratulations to Dash on graduating from the pediatric intensive care unit at Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia! Dash was with us for 55 days after a car accident. Our team gathered to celebrate this milestone in his recovery and wish him well as he left the hospital. We're grateful to provide lifesaving care to kids in our community like Dash!
