Emory University Medical Imaging Program

Emory University Medical Imaging Program Emory University’s Medical Imaging Program offers a baccalaureate degree in medical imaging with advanced coursework in one of 4 minor track options.

Welcome to the Emory University Medical Imaging Program. Medical imaging professionals utilize x-rays and other energy forms to help diagnose and treat medical conditions. The medical imaging professional (radiologic technologist or radiographer) provides quality patient care while creating diagnostic images independently, assisting radiologists and other physicians in imaging the body, and operating specialized radiographic equipment. This program is ideal for people interested in both personal interaction and a "high-tech" career. Medical imaging professionals apply their knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, patient positioning, radiation protection, and image production techniques in the performance of their duties. Students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for professional competence through a blend of classroom and clinical education. Emory University’s Medical Imaging Program offers a baccalaureate degree, and graduates advance more rapidly within the profession. Advanced coursework in radiology administration, radiography education, and advanced clinical practice in computed tomography, interventional radiology, magnetic resonance imaging, or women’s health (mammography and bone densitometry) is offered.

Last Thursday, 2/6/25, we had the great pleasure of joining the GSRT at the GA Capitol to show solidarity and support initiatives that would enact minimum licensure requirements for radiation therapists, nuclear medicine technologists and anyone administering ionizing radiation. This means SAFER and higher quality imaging and treatment for everyone! Thank you to the GA house representatives and GA Senators who took the time to talk with us about optimal patient care for Georgians. Rep. Rick Jasperse (Pike County), Rep. Matthew Gambill (Bartow County), Rep. Sharon Cooper (Marietta), Rep. Jasmine Clark (Gwinnett County), Senator Nikki Merritt (District 9), Rep. Dexter Sharper (Valdosta), Rep. El-Mahdi Holly (Stockbridge), Rep. Imani Barnes (Tucker), Rep. Kimberly Alexander (Hiram), Rep. Segun Adeyina (Grayson)

We're baaaaaack! After a restful and regenerative winter break, we are back at it this week! Honoring the Seniors' journey on this . The beginning of a new year and the spring 2025 semester makes us want to reminisce! Going all the way back to September 2022, 1st semester for the Class of 2025, when Lupe documented her introduction to fizzies, Gastrografin & Barium 😂 And now she and her classmates are graduating in a few short months 🥹.
