Release the anxiety associated with collecting your money 😥.

Check your EOBs weekly. So you know what the client is due prior to them being seen multiple times. One of my clients came to me with a list of 10 clients that no longer had their copays covered since the end of 2021. This means that they have over a years worth of copays that they now owe. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN???
Her old biller was not checking the EOBs and not posting payments to her EHR software either. So no one knew who got paid and for what. Imagine her patients find out they have such LARGE outstanding bills.
By checking up on your claims regulary and your EOBs weekly you can catch issues like this EARLY. Then you can inform your client before it gets out of hand. No your patient can properly adjust their schedule so they can continue to be seen.

Billing is NOT in your job title!
I know self care culture will have you believe that self care is only you doing your nails and taking bubble baths, but there is more to it than just that.
💅Your energy and time is sacred and not something that should be wasted. Any tasks that can be outsourced or streamlined DO IT!
Girl it is EXHAUSTING doing things that take away from your true purpose so please outsource it.
💅 When you have someone making sure your money is flowing quickly and constintently then that burden is lifted off and you can focus on enjoying your practice or simply enjoying yourself!

Are you an insurance accepting practice??
Here's 3 things to get the most out of being on insurance panels.
✨ Bill at your full rate!!! Head over to my stories for a deeper dive into why this is key to getting the most out of insurance providers
✨Request a Fee Schedule Increase ANNUALLY. Do this at the first of the year. There are so many factors that come into play in being able to recieve a fee increase. Odds are you make the list... check out my blog post to see if you do (Link in Bio)
✨ALWAYS Appeal Your Denials. This goes without saying but find out the issue and resubmit. Sometimes their may be no error at all but an error on the insurance providers in. Stay up on these denials so your income stays consistent.

How many times have you gotten your medical claims denied?
Denials are one of the 6 things that can block up your money flow (Join me in the stories for more in depth convo about the 6 blocks that hold up your flow. *wink wink* *nudge nudge*).

💥Duplicate Billing: Let's say you forgot what and who you billed so you bill everyone again. This will get you a big denial. Proper bookkeeping and an ERA system can make this issue obsolete
💥Wrongful Billing: You billed for a patient that was rescheduled or canceled.
💥Claims Not Filed On Time: You have 90 days for most insurance providers to submit claims. To keep a regular flow of income you will need it to be more consistent than 90 days.
💥Claims With Missing Information: Just one number can be off in their insurance number, birthday or coding. This will be an immediate denial
💥Failure to Verify Insurance: Just had a patient yesterday submit their insurance ID. If the medical provider did not wait for me to verify and saw the patient they would have recieved a denial or no money at all. The patient had dental insurance only and not medical insurance.

Insurance providers and EAPs contracted rates fluctuate based on different variables like:
⭐️ How many clinicians you have in your practice
⭐️The number of years you have been on the insurance panel
⭐️Specialty areas (Ones in high demand like EDMR)
⭐️Night and Weekend availability
⭐️Bilingual services offered

Today we talked about our revenue flow and how that should look for your practice.

⭐️Call/Inquiry: the client contacts you looking for services
⭐️Insurance Verification: this step needs to be done BEFORE seeing the client
⭐️Session/ Appointment: What you went to school for 👏🏾. Make sure your notes are detailed especially if client is utilizing their insurance. Copays need to be collected here
⭐️Invoice: this is what we will use to bill their insurance
⭐️Claim Submission: this needs to be done DAILY or WEEKLY to ensure regular cash flow into your practice.
⭐️Payment Received: All your hard work paid off and it’s time to pay yourself and your practice
⭐️Posting/Updating your ledger: bookkeeping is vital! You need good reports so you know who owes, who’s been paid, and how much your practice is bringing in
