Yeah, healing is happening, but some days still gon hurt.⁠

Yes, you’re doing the work.⁠
Yea, you don’t explode like you used to.⁠
Yep, You’re more patient and present.⁠

But you still feel heavy.⁠
Still get quiet when it gets too real.⁠
Still wonder if you’re really okay or just good at pretending to be okay.⁠

That doesn’t mean you’re backsliding.⁠
It means you’re human.⁠
Healing doesn’t erase the past.⁠
It just means you don’t have to keep holding it all in.⁠

Let this be your reminder: feeling it is part of healing it.⁠

Sometimes the goals you set fall apart not because you’re unmotivated, but because they were never truly yours in the first place.⁠

A lot of high achievers carry goals built from expectation, pressure, or habit. You’re so used to performing that you don’t always stop to ask, “Does this actually fit the life I want?”⁠

That’s where things get heavy.⁠
Your mind can commit to a goal, but your body knows when it’s not aligned. You feel the drag, the resistance, the quiet dread. And then you blame yourself for “not sticking with it,” even though your values were trying to tell you the truth the whole time.⁠

Here’s the shift:⁠
Goals stick when they come from identity, not obligation.⁠
From what matters, not what impresses.⁠
From the version of you you’re becoming, not the version you had to be.⁠

I’ve been hearing mixed messages about the Blackout. Some folks are saying “don’t buy anything at all,” and others are saying they’re only avoiding big brands but still planning to support Black-owned businesses for Black Friday. Honestly, both make sense.⁠

Just like most things in life, different perspectives lead to different actions.⁠

I think both approaches have impact, and everyone has to pick what works for them, their budget, and their values.⁠

Since a lot of you have asked about Shades of Emotion already, I’ll just say this: the SOE sale is happening, but there’s no pressure either way. If emotional clarity or slowing down has been on your mind, it’s there when you’re ready.⁠


That’s it. No agenda. Just giving space for folks to do what makes the most sense for them.⁠

Who’s participating in the Blackout this Black Friday?⁠

I’ve been watching the conversations, and at its core it’s really about choosing where you put your energy, attention, and more obviously, money.⁠

And honestly, that’s a mental health strategy too.⁠

Every year, the season tries to pull us into urgency that has nothing to do with joy. Sales ads get louder, our nervous systems get tighter, and suddenly we’re running on stress instead of values.⁠

Most of us give more than we realize. We overextend, overcommit, and call it “normal.” ⁠

What If: The blackout is a reminder that stepping back is still a choice. Protecting your wallet is important, but protecting your mind is just as real.⁠


The blackout offers a different lane. A chance to slow down, choose consciously, and not let pressure dictate your decisions.⁠

If you’re participating, cool. If you’re not, also cool.⁠

Either way, it’s a good moment to ask yourself:⁠
