National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month is observed each July to bring awareness to the unique struggles that racial and ethnic minority communities face regarding mental illness in the U.S. Studies suggest that racial minority groups and s*xual minority groups show higher levels of anxiety, depression, suicidal tendencies, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other mental health disorders. Unfortunately, many members of our BIPOC communities face cultural stigmas that discourage seeking help and speaking out about mental health both of which impact their ability to get the help they need. Let's work together in solidarity to break the stigma and normalize therapy.

The Aguirre Center for Inclusive Psychotherapy specializes in providing culturally-affirming mental health services to individuals who hold minoritized identities, particularly the BIPOC, Latinx and LGBTQ+ communities in Georgia and and 30 other states! All of our clinicians practice from an anti-oppressive, social-justice framework. Contact us to schedule your free 15-minute phone consultation and get to know our therapists! Email info@inclusivepsych.com or call 404-565-4385. You can also learn more about culturally-affirming therapists online at: www.inclusivepsych.com

Dr. Sophia Aguirre is offering a NEW Process & Consultation Group for Latinx Therapists! This is a process-oriented experience for Latinx-identified therapists interested in furthering their personal and professional development within a group of their Latinx colleagues.
• This group will be facilitated from a relational, interpersonal and Feminist orientation rooted within an antiracist, de-colonized framework that promotes resilience and the development of cultural humility.
• The here-and-now is a central focus of the group: all thoughts, feelings and associations to the process are explored and here-now-dynamics among group members will be highlighted as they occur. Members are encouraged to exchange honest feedback, and to practice relating in more authentic and emotionally vulnerable manner.
• The content of this group is driven by what the group members needs/desires and what each member brings to group each week: themes surrounding attachment styles, relationship concerns, burnout/compassion fatigue, finances and money management/mindsets, imposter syndrome, and other issues related to being a clinician surface, and much more

March is Social Work Month so in honor of this, the Aguirre Center for Inclusive Psychotherapy wanted to highlight their 2 social workers: Kaila Tang and Amanda Quintero!

Throughout history, Social Workers have fought for civil and voting rights for people of color, achieved the minimum wage and safer workplaces, expanded reproductive and employment rights for American women, supported marriage and employment protections for LGBT people, advocated for immigrants seeking asylum, and so much more!
