Impermanence is a truth that is needed for our culture. This teaching that life is filled with change and that we need to be still in the moment-not grasping for some escape from our situation. I see this problem all the time in my clinic. If a person is in pain, they want a quick fix. Instead of listening to the cry of their body and honoring the wisdom found in that moment, they want to "fix the problem, now!"

When health care becomes control care, it misses the mark every time. Ask yourself the next time you reach for a pill to suppress a symptom, why am I doing this. Sadly, the public has been conditioned to believe treating effects is the target of any treatment plan! Next time you feel a certain way that you want to escape, ask yourself; "What can I learn from this and in what way do I need to awaken from my current state of conditioned mind". The answers will come.
