On Wednesday afternoon, we partnered with Carter Blood Care to host a blood drive. The experience was excellent, and their staff demonstrated remarkable courtesy and care. Carter Blood Care provides essential donations to our local hospitals, and we will be hosting another drive on December 30th. If you are interested in donating beforehand, they will be at Golden Villa on the day of their Health Fair. Thank you to all participants, including our staff members who received an incentive. Thank you to Monique, Carrie, Angelina, Brenda, Fawn, and Amanda. Amanda would like to extend a special thank you to her 16-year-old daughter Bailee for her first-time donation. As blood donation is a vital cause for our Activity Director Amanda, we hope to host many more drives with them, growing each time.

We honored several staff members for their Wesley House anniversaries at our monthly employee meeting. Lanora Russell has been with Wesley House for 12 years, Dora Davis for 2 years, and Fawn Tidwell for 1 year. We also celebrated a milestone birthday for Tracy Gamble. Happy 50th birthday. She is a 24-year employee of Wesley House. We appreciate your hard work, compassion, and care, ladies.

This afternoon, we had the pleasure of listening to Ryan Case of First Baptist Church Atlanta play the piano. His exceptional talent shone through in his beautiful performance.

Our residents kicked off Independence Day in style with a morning bingo session led by one of their own, followed by a mouth-watering lunch of cheeseburgers, baked beans, and potato salad. The celebration continued with a festive 4th of July party in the afternoon. We're thrilled that everyone had a blast commemorating America's birthday!

National Bingo Day Top Winners. A tally of Bingo wins per resident was kept throughout the day, yielding the following results: 1st Place Margaret Thornhill, 2nd Place Lanita Gibson, 3rd Place Marcia Matlock.

On June 27th, in celebration of National Bingo Day, our facility hosted an all-day Bingo event for residents, beginning at 9:45 with a brief pause for lunch. The winners received prizes such as Wesley House bucks, snack cakes, household items, and enjoyed a visit from Chambers Home Health and Hospice during one of the rounds.
National Bingo day was a huge success and we think we may have to do it again in a few months for fun.

Friday's 'OLD Hollywood' themed day commenced with a game of Hollywood-themed bingo. The luncheon included placemats adorned with Hollywood trivia. We dined on Chicken cordon bleu with a delicious cream sauce, twice baked potatoes, sauteed greenbeans, and Boston cream pie. The afternoon's entertainment featured a screening of Casablanca, stirring nostalgia for timeless films and cherished actors and actresses. The movies was accompanied by a popcorn bar with different seasonings for toppings.

Golden Villa hosted a little car show on Friday and when our residents were invited over a few of them decided it sounded like an exciting adventure. I had the joy of accompanying Betty Anne and when they asked if she would like to sit in one of the cars her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm and she seized the opportunity. This smile is absolutely radiant!!!
