Rob Beard Update:
Thank you to everyone who contributed, shared, and volunteered in support of Rob Beard, whose story is shared below.
A couple of years ago, in December 2023, we launched a GoFundMe campaign to help Rob, and thanks to your
overwhelming generosity, he has been able to remain comfortably at Atherton Place, the environment best suited to his needs at this time.
But the impact of your kindness didn’t end there. Thanks to Lifespan International, Rob recently completed an
eight-week Lifespan IG program, which helped increase his socialization and allowed him to participate in meaningful
intergenerational research aimed at bridging the learning gap between young adults and seniors. This program made a tremendous difference in Rob’s engagement, well-being, and sense of belonging.
This is truly a people-helping-people success story.
As Rob continues to make progress, the need for support continues as well. In that same spirit of compassion, we are
launching Round Two of the GoFundMe campaign for Rob Beard, with a goal of raising $5,000 to support him through 2026.
To further uplift our “adopted senior,” ElderVizor will match 100% of contributions up to $2,500. We invite you to join
us once again in this heartfelt act of kindness. Rob is deeply grateful for every gesture of support—and so are we.

Rob’s Original Story from 2023:
ElderVizor is reaching out for your help to support a senior in need.
If you’ve ever wanted a meaningful way to give back or make a difference in the life of one specific person, this is a powerful opportunity.
Meet Robert “Rob” Beard
Rob has faced extraordinary challenges since the age of seven. Growing up in Maryland, his appendix burst and caused
severe poisoning that developed into gangrene. He was given just 24 hours to live. His temperature rose above 109
degrees, and he slipped into a coma. When he woke up eight weeks later, he was paralyzed — a permanent, life-altering
outcome that left him wheelchair-bound from childhood.
Despite unimaginable hardship, Rob has never viewed himself as a victim. Now 73 years old, he continues to push
forward with determination and dignity. Though he lives with paralysis, IBS, and limited use of his hands, he has always
worked hard to contribute to society. Rob earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree and spent nearly 20 years at
AT&T. Unfortunately, due to multiple surgeries from the wear and tear of transferring in and out of his wheelchair, he had
to retire just six months shy of earning full retirement benefits. As a result, his small pension and social security barely
cover his essential needs.
Rob doesn’t like to ask for help — but he needs it now.
Rob has no surviving family, and his friends are unable to assist. When the rising costs at his senior living community
began to price him out of the home he has lived in for twelve years, he reached out to ElderVizor for support.
After extensive research, we strongly believe the best and safest option is for Rob to remain at Atherton Place, where he
is properly supported and where his unique needs can be met. However, he is short about $400 per month. While we
continue searching for long-term solutions—including federal, state, and private assistance—Rob still needs help to
remain in the only home that functions well for him.
He is already using every available local grant and assistance program, but it still isn’t enough to cover his basic assisted living expenses.
Our Goal
We are seeking to raise $5,000 to supplement Rob’s rent for the upcoming year while we work toward securing
sustainable long-term aid. Every single dollar raised will go directly toward Rob’s assisted living costs.
Why This Matters
Part of ElderVizor’s mission is to serve seniors with integrity, compassion, and real solutions. Although our nonprofit arm is
not yet launched (coming soon), we are committed to helping individuals like Rob who have nowhere else to turn.
Many seniors face situations like Rob’s. We know we can’t solve everyone — but we can help where we’re able, one
senior at a time. Sometimes, all someone needs is for a community to step in.
Somebody has to do it. Please join us.
Your Impact
All contributions to this campaign go 100% toward Rob Beard’s assisted living expenses until funds are fully used.
This is a pure act of generosity — not tax-deductible, not for profit — simply an opportunity to make a direct, meaningful difference in someone’s life.
Thank you for considering a contribution to support Rob. Your kindness helps him stay safe, supported, and dignified — exactly where he deserves to be.
Sincerely,
Brian and Jona
