Job #199. Customer had just purchased and brand new dryer because it was taking 3 to 4 cycles to dry clothes. (This is not a good sign by the way. Upon further investigation we found that from the back of the dryer was a "foil" type hose that went through the wall then turned and went straight up another approximately 25 feet and vented through the roof. Immediately we were able to diagnose the problem: First, the foil type hose (which should NEVER be used) and second the 25 foot vertical run to the roof. Upon removing the foil type vent hose, we found exactly what we had predicted: Completely impacted and clogged with lint. Word to the wise: NEVER use foil type connection hose for your dryer. And never have your dryer vent go vertical and through the roof. You are inviting trouble, meaning, a tremendous fire hazard. We were very happy to have been able to make this home more safe for the family. Be sure to have any and all dryer vents maintenanced once per year after your initial cleaning. Remember there are an average of 16,000 dryer fires per year. And 18 to 20 deaths as a result of dryer fires. Get your dryer vent system cleaned, serviced, certified and maintained by us. And breathe a little easier. Your dryer will last longer, and use much less electricity. So it's good for the environment too. Call us today
