I have been quiet here because I have been reflecting on how I want to show up as I move into my second year working full time through .io .

This year, I have been meditating more. Returning to my yoga practice. Looking inward again. And I was reminded of something very simple and very true. Every real moment of success in my life came when I was centered in myself.

Not when I was chasing goals.
Not when I was trying to become something I am not.
Not when I was consumed by work or money or proving anything.

Clarity has always come from stillness.

I use technology every day. I believe in it. I respect it.
But I do not believe in letting it replace presence, thinking, or human energy.

Yesterday, I even advised a client not to use AI. Not because it is not powerful, but because it is being overused. Right now, people are craving what feels real. Many no longer know what is authentic and what is not. You can feel that confusion everywhere.

My creative thinking does not come from prompts.
It comes from awareness. From lived experience. From understanding people across cultures, generations, and contexts.

I do not like technology using me. I like using it intentionally, in service of clarity, creativity, and meaning.

The same applies to work and to hiring. When companies rely only on tools or assume that knowing technology is enough, they miss something essential. Context matters. Experience matters. Energy matters. Different generations bring different wisdom, and that depth cannot be automated.

Imagination, to me, is not abstract.
It is idealistic, but it is also grounded.
It is imagination put into action, guided by awareness.

This is what I am coming back to.
Mindfulness. Creativity. Presence.
And building from a place that feels true.

I have been MIA on purpose. This has been a roller coaster of a year but the only consistent was my love for my kids and our love for each other. There were great lessons and great moments. I knew when I decided to go in business on my own that I would have to brace for impact. The glamour of having your own company hides the fact that we work a lot harder, have to deal with a lot of stress and situations you never imagined. I did have some great wins, though. I had great clients and I still have some I love. I’ve worked with the best in the media and entertainment industry and I am beyond grateful for each one of them. I am a Capricorn so business and money affect me deeply. I had to reset and stay quiet. I had to ask for help. And now I have decided to become more private. I have shared so much of me in the hopes of helping others and now I have to focus on myself. I’m exhausted but happy to have grown so much. Here’s to hoping the second year of .io brings more clarity, more clients and more disruption to the media and marketing industry. Here’s to the best Capricorn season yet and for an incredible 2026!

Since I began practicing yoga in 2019, astrology slowly became part of my life. I studied quietly for years. I did it not to predict anything, but to understand myself. To see patterns, timing, and purpose through a different lens.

Astrology isn’t here to tell us how to live. It’s a guide.
A map. A way to step back and look at life as a whole, and to see ourselves as part of something bigger.

Over time, I realized how naturally astrology weaves into everything I do: yoga, retreats, meditation, healing, mindful living. It adds another layer of clarity and meaning.

Lately, I’ve felt called to start sharing this work with others. Gently. Quietly. Intentionally. And I am happy about that.

Imagine if we could hug the younger version of ourselves?! When I look at the 7yr old Simone… wow! What I know now, little girl? I honor you today and always.

Where I learned to stop fitting in.

When I started at Turner Broadcasting, I started at Cartoon Network. I was still very Brazilian in every way — warm, expressive, and coming from a much more formal work culture.

There was a Latin America group in the building, but I was the only Brazilian working for Cartoon Network U.S. — the mothership.

And I loved it.

It was the first time I felt like I didn’t have to tone myself down or fit into a mold. At Turner, being creative, curious, and bold wasn’t just allowed — it was expected.

You could be smart and fun, strategic and spontaneous.
It was a culture that valued ideas over hierarchy and individuality over perfection.

When I later moved to CNN and then Turner Sports, that same spirit followed me. I carried that creative confidence into every role — even in more traditional companies. Some people loved me for it, others didn’t. And that was okay. I finally understood the kind of company culture — and people — that were my vibe.

That experience shaped everything about how I work today. It taught me that creativity isn’t just something you do — it’s how you see the world. And when people are free to show up as themselves, they create their best work.

Turner taught me that freedom fuels creativity — and that’s still how I work today. I help brands rediscover that same voice in a world that keeps trying to make everyone sound the same.

What’s one place or time in your career that changed how you see yourself and your work?

A retreat is not just a day off. It is a chance to reset. To reconnect. To breathe.

Here is how we will spend September 20 together: flowing through yoga, stillness, breathwork, and closing with a beautiful ritual of crafting a botanical vessel to take home. We will share food, stories, and community along the way.

Fall is the season of grounding. Let us begin it with intention.
