Leading the way to a sustainable future in glass production
The replacement of our flint glass melting furnace at the moulded glass production site in Lohr am Main Germany has been planned and executed by our experts over more than 2 years. In January this year, the dismantling of the old furnace started and was completed within 4 months while the amber glass production continued without interruption.

Take a look at the incredible achievement of our team on site, our suppliers, and partners – in fast motion from demolition to final construction of the new state-of-the-art oxy-hybrid furnace.

Main benefits of the new furnace:

- Advanced Furnace Technology: Our new LCE-oxy-flex-hybrid furnace is the worldwide first and biggest furnace of its kind. The furnace can operate with up to 50% electricity and reduces CO2e emissions by up to 40% compared to conventional furnace technology.

- Commitment to Sustainability: Today we already source about 70% of our electricity from renewable energy and we plan to increase this share to 100% until 2030. Also, the new more energy-efficient cooling system is further supporting our ambitious sustainability goals.

- Innovation and Quality: Moreover, the furnace replacement comes with further investment into state-of-the-art machinery, automation and inspection systems.

Am vergangenem Freitag waren wir mit unserem Ausbildungsteam in Neuhaus am Rennweg auf der gofuture 2025 vertreten.
Viele Schüler*innen besuchten unseren Messestand und informierten sich über unsere Ausbildungsangebote – auch noch für den Ausbildungsstart im September 2025!
Auch die Eltern konnten sich einen Einblick in unsere technischen Berufe, z.B. Verfahrensmechaniker für Glastechnik oder Industriemechaniker oder unsere kaufmännischen Berufe, z.B. Euro-Industriekaufmann, verschaffen.

🌟 3 Days at Coweta Works – Inspiring Future Careers! 🌟

For the past three days, we had a fantastic time at the Coweta Works Career Expo at the CEC in Newnan! 🎉 Hundreds of 8th-grade students from all over Coweta County visited to explore different career paths.

Some already had a clear idea of what they want to do in the future, but most were just beginning to discover their options. That’s what makes Coweta Works such a great event – it gives students the opportunity to learn about exciting careers and plan for their futures! 🚀

At Gerresheimer, we were happy to introduce students to our Apprenticeship and Work-Based Learning programs. These programs provide hands-on experience and the perfect way to start a career in manufacturing while still in school! 🏭🔧

A big thank you to our amazing team for all the support and for making these three days so much fun!
We loved being part of this event and can’t wait for the next one!

We have successfully completed the acquisition of Blitz LuxCo Sarl, the holding company of the Bormioli Pharma Group announced in May 2024. With this acquisition, we strengthen our European footprint with additional production sites and underpin our market position as a leading full-service provider and global partner for the pharma and biotech industries.

Since 2019, we have been producing drug delivery systems, diagnostic and medical products made of plastic on around 14,600 m² at this site. The new factory hall adds around 7,600 m² of production space for glass syringes. We are investing over EUR 100 million in the construction and equipment of the new building. The expansion of the site will double the number of employees in Skopje from around 250 to 500 over the next three to five years. The new production hall in Skopje is currently one of the key projects in the global capacity expansion for drug delivery systems and syringes for long-term customer contracts.

Rückblick auf die Lange Nacht der Industrie in unserem Werk in Essen! 🏭✨
Letzte Woche hatten wir das Vergnügen, im Rahmen der Langen Nacht der Industrie unsere Türen für die Öffentlichkeit zu öffnen.
Es war ein besonderer Abend, an dem die Teilnehmer einen exklusiven Einblick hinter die Kulissen unserer Glasproduktion erhielten. Vom Rohmaterial bis hin zum fertigen Produkt konnten unsere Besucher hautnah erleben, wie viel Präzision, Innovation und Teamarbeit in jedem einzelnen Arbeitsschritt steckt.
Ein großes Dankeschön an alle, die dabei waren und diesen Abend so besonders gemacht haben! Wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste Mal.

Last week we had the pleasure of opening the doors of our Moulded Glass plant in Essen to the public for the Nacht der Industrie! It was a fantastic evening where participants had the unique opportunity to go behind the scenes and experience our glass production up close.
From the raw materials to the final product, our visitors gained insight into the precision, innovation, and teamwork that drive our production process every day.

Gerresheimer is thrilled to announce the significant expansion of our production site in Peachtree City!
This journey, which started in October 2022, has been both challenging and rewarding. After two years of hard work and dedication, we have successfully doubled our plant size and are now operating with highly automated, state-of-the-art production capabilities.
On Monday, July 22nd, three new production halls (H, I, and J) went live, adding approximately 90,000 square feet (8,400 square meters) of office and operational space. We received our occupancy permits in May 2024, and serial injection molding has already begun in Hall I.
This tremendous accomplishment wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering commitment of our incredible team and partners.
We are immensely proud of what we have achieved together and are excited to continue serving our customers and patients with even greater efficiency and innovation.

We are also very appreciative of all the support from Peachtree City, GA - City Government, Fayette Chamber of Commerce, Fayette County Development Authority and the Georgia Department of Economic Development
