Trained in plastic surgery at the prestigious, internationally recognized Mayo Clinic, Dr. Sheldon M. He is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and a board-certified general surgeon. In practice for over 25 years, Dr. Lincenberg founded Georgia Plastic Surgery, P.C., in 1989. Dr. Lincenberg is a Fellow of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Lincenberg received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed hi s plastic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and served general surgery residencies at Sinai Hospital in Detroit and University of Illinois hospitals. Dr. Lincenberg obtained added experience with the Division of Hand Surgery at the Mayo Clinic. His professional affiliations include the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Priestley Society of the Mayo Clinic Alumni Association. He has served as president of the Georgia Society of Plastic Surgeons. Benevolent humanitarian and community service projects are important to Dr. Lincenberg. He organizes surgical teams for an annual surgical mission to Ecuador to correct birth defects and other reconstructive surgery needs of children. He founded Kidejapa, a non-profit organization, dedicated to these missions. In 2010, his team responded to the earthquake in Haiti and performed surgery for a week in limited conditions such as damaged hospitals, temporary tents and clinics. In 1995, Dr. Lincenberg created and began sponsoring Pink Ribbons, an annual October event during Breast Cancer Month to benefit breast cancer organizations. Co-sponsored by Belk department store, this event is scheduled each October at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia. The event benefits the Georgia Breast Cancer Coalition Fund and the low cost mammography program of the Georgia Cancer Foundation. Through the years, Pink Ribbons has raised nearly a half-million dollars for breast cancer.
