During , we are celebrating and saying goodbye to Danielle Graco, our incredible social work intern from Georgia State University. Danielle has been a valued part of our clinic team this past year, meeting one-on-one with patients, offering support, and helping connect individuals with vital resources during their medical visits.

We are excited for what’s ahead as she continues her journey in social work, following her recent acceptance into Georgia State's Advanced Standing MSW program. Thank you, Danielle! We wish you all the best in this next chapter!

As we continue celebrating , we are incredibly grateful for our dedicated volunteer providers who support our specialty clinics. For many years, these providers have partnered with Good Shepherd Clinic to deliver much-needed free specialty care onsite.

Following our recent merger, patients from both locations can now access these services at Good Shepherd, helping expand access to high-quality specialty care for those we serve.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Feroze A. Yusufji (Orthopedics), Dr. Avi Pradhan (Nephrology), Dr. Medha Pradhan (Pain Management), and Dr. Satya Suddala (Gynecology) for your ongoing commitment and compassionate care.

As we continue celebrating , we are thrilled to recognize the incredible medical volunteers who make our mobile dental clinic possible. Entirely staffed by volunteer dentists, hygienists, and assistants, our newest program has become an invaluable source of care for our patients.

Our most recent dental clinic in March was made possible by the following dedicated volunteers:

Dr. Eric Anderson, Dr. Raheel Thobhani, Dr. Kimmy Clough (assistant Kiki Kisseih), Dr. Molly Ruiz, Dr. Nalini Kataria (assistant Neil Kataria), Hygienist Zaklyn Johnson, Hygienist Ashley Scott, and Emory University's pre-dental student organization.

We are thrilled to celebrate our 10th anniversary alongside the start of ! Volunteers are truly the heart of both of our clinic locations, and this week we are proud to recognize those who make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and staff.

At our Good Shepherd location, one very familiar face is Tilder Harris. For over 20 years, Tilder has been a constant presence, volunteering every day the clinic is open. She first came to know the clinic as a patient and was inspired to give back.

Since then, Tilder has welcomed patients with warmth and kindness while supporting our clinic reception area. She also plays an important role in special events like our annual Tomato Sandwich Party and monthly Market Days.

Thank you, Tilder, for your dedication and for being such an important part of our community!

A message from Susan Porter Whatley, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, Executive Director & Founder

Today, April 19, marks 10 years since we opened the Urban Clinic of Atlanta, and I’m so grateful for what this journey has become.

What started in one room in a church in Grant Park with a few volunteers has grown into multiple clinic locations, including our Cleveland Ave site, and the merger with Good Shepherd Clinic in Morrow. This growth has only been possible because of the incredible donors, volunteers, staff, and supporters who believe in this mission.

I’m especially proud of the patients we serve and the resilience and hope we see every single day. It’s an honor to be part of their stories.

As we look ahead, I’m hopeful for all we can continue to do together for our communities. Please consider making a donation in honor of this milestone. Every gift truly helps us care for more people across Metro Atlanta. ➡️urbanclinic.org/donate

Thank you for being part of this journey!

Across Georgia, more than 1.2 million people live without health insurance. For them, getting sick can mean choosing between care and groceries—or going without care entirely. The Urban Clinic of Atlanta, part of the Georgia Charitable Care Network, provides healthcare with compassion, dignity, and impact. Our clinic provides care for uninsured patients at an average cost of less than $10 per patient encounter, just 8% of the cost of an average Medicaid visit.

When you give monthly, you are not just helping patients; you are strengthening our community. Visit www.urbanclinic.org/donate and donate today.

What does it look like when a community comes together in faith? At GCCN member clinics, and through the statewide campaign, we see it every day.

Supporting our clinics is more than just medicine - it’s about the restorative power of being a "neighbor" in the truest sense. When you give or volunteer, you:

- Bring healing and dignity to the uninsured.
- Strengthen families and neighborhoods through compassionate care.
- Offer congregants a hands-on way to live out their faith.
- Build healthier, more connected communities.

Every gift and every volunteer hour is a living expression of love, mercy, and justice. We invite you to join us in this mission to ensure no one in Georgia has to face their health journey alone. Donate today at gacharitycare.org. .

We are back in the news! Thrilled to sit down with Joe Ripley and 11Alive to share how our organization is addressing mental health and supporting the well-being of our community. Huge thanks to the Atlanta Women's Foundation for their investment in advancing critical research and mental health programming for girls and women.

The Atlanta Women's Foundation conducted a study that showed homelessness, childcare constraints and access to healthcare strongly factored into one's mental health
