Last Thursday, we celebrated the turning of the seasons with a grand end of summer block party.

Our courtyards were filled with the fresh aroma of barbecue and a distinct new orleans sound. Blair Crimmins and The Hookers "ragtime jazz meets rock and roll" band gave us a phenomenal performance, and in the afternoon's summer heat, the New Orleans-inspired 8 piece band was right at home.

This week, Food and Beverage Director Kyle Lashley hosted a exquisite wine education, exploring the Provence region of France and its rich history of bespoke wines. Offering numerous wines to taste, paired expertly with fresh cheeses and charcuterie, Kyle and our guests recounted the region's history of wine making, how its signature profiles were developed, and how its legacy continues in contemporary wine making.

John has served in hospitality 26 years, most recently as Senior Practice Director and Head of Global Delivery with The Ritz Carlton Leadership Center. John has specialized in service-culture transformation for a variety of disciplines and sectors, from hotels to healthcare.

With Corso Atlanta and our expanding portfolio of Corso Residences, John will be spearheading service culture at all scales of operations. We're eager to welcome him to our team as we enter this exciting time for our portfolio and mission.

Yesterday evening, we had the pleasure of hosting residents and guests for a private wine dinner led by Kyle Lashley and Chef Robbie Pacheco. With a total of 6 courses, 5 paired with exceptional Banfi wines, we enjoyed a wide palette of flavors and cuisines - from Black Diamond Scallops to a perfected Tuscan Ribeye.

We'd like to extend a special thanks to our collaborators at Empire Distributors, Inc. and Castello Banfi Hospitality for procuring the night's incredible selection of wines.

An escape from the summer heat, our private pool at Corso Atlanta offers a serene retreat in the heart of the city - seated between views of Buckhead's lush foliage and the face of our Parisian Château.

Yesterday, we gathered poolside for an afternoon of refreshing fare and live performances from local musicians.

"Try to be a bit better than the day before. Every day adds up."

Marlin Milton, Chef De Partie with Corso Atlanta, is a true creative and culinary force. In his time in our restaurants, Marlin has had an incredible impact on our team and our culinary experiences as a whole.

Marlin formally studied music, and he isn't shy to compare the culinary arts to musical composition. "Everything is a balance," he says, whether is the arrangement of instruments or the harmony of ingredients.

"Always be receptive," Marlin notes. "Be open to criticism. I keep my eyes and ears open every second." Marlin is adamant that communication and attention is as fundamental to the kitchen as culinary skill.

In his personal time, he surfs, fishes, plays the guitar, and is always refining his skills in the kitchen.

We're grateful for the great meals and Marlin invites to the guests and residents he serves. Thank you for all that you do!

As we enter the weekend, we're looking back on a week full of delight and adventure at Corso Atlanta.

On Wednesday, we were transported to the mediterranean with our "Taste of Greece", featuring a masterfully curated selection of wines and appetizers.

In addition, our excellent Chef De Partie Pete Washburn amazed us with a brilliant magic show. He performed to a full house, dazzling us with his tricks and talents.

Last week, in observance of Juneteenth, we hosted a fantastic guest speaker, Judith Stanton, to explore the history and significance of the holiday! Her seminar was insightful and well-attended, with 50 guests joining us in the theater. She was followed by a phenomenal performance of the famous Boots on the Ground line dance and a signature happy hour in our overlook lounge.
