Emory EMS (EEMS) is a student-operated, volunteer emergency medical service that exists to provide emergency medical care to the Emory University community.

Est. 1992, EEMS is the 2024 GEMSA Emergency Medical Service of the Year.

Emory Emergency Medical Services honors the life and service of Master Firefighter Preston Fant, who lost his life after being injured in the line of duty. We extend our condolences to his loved ones and colleagues at the Dekalb County Fire Rescue Department

🚨 Deadline Extended!
Freshmen and new transfer students: want to earn your Advanced EMT certification and gain the skills to respond with Emory EMS? This is your chance.

The Emory EMS Education Program’s Combined EMT/Advanced EMT certification course is a two-semester integrated curriculum that prepares students to work in EMS and provide emergency care when it matters most. From day one, students are introduced to Advanced EMT topics alongside EMT fundamentals, giving them the time, structure, and guidance needed to develop true mastery throughout the course.

Training combines interactive lectures, hands-on skill sessions, and clinical rotations on 911 ambulances and in hospitals.

In addition to responding to 1,000+ annual medical emergencies on and around campus with Emory EMS, graduates are eligible for national EMS certification, opening doors to opportunities far beyond Emory.

The application to join Emory EMS for individuals with current EMS licensure is now open! 🚑

If you are an EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic and affiliated with Emory as a student, faculty, or staff, you can now apply to volunteer with Emory EMS! Applications will be due on July 7th, 2025 at 11:59PM EST.

Applications can be found on the Emory EMS website. If you don’t currently have a license and wish to get one through the Emory EMS Education Program, be on the lookout for applications in the fall and spring. Please reach out to emoryems@emory.edu for further questions!
