Stuck is a word I hear a lot right now, and it makes sense; that is exactly how it feels. It’s a place I've become intimately acquainted with on my journey over the years.
When it feels like "progress" slows to a halt and we've decided some stage of life we're in has come to an end, or we finally see a pattern we’re ready to let go of, and we're ready to jump into something new....it's a very hard space to be in. What is the next thing? What's next? What now?
It can be hard to know....but you actually don't need to immediately know. This place of sitting, waiting, processing, observing, feeling - it's actually an incredibly important place to be.
Maybe you don't really have enough of a pull in any specific direction yet, except away from the current situation.
Or we maybe you have taken the leaps and things just aren't panning out the way you want them to.
That's okay. It's part of it. A big and important part of it.
And it's something we don't quite talk about often enough - the period of transition from one thing to the next, and the importance of being willing to sit in it before the next stage of life or simply the next step becomes more clear.
Seeing your patterns is a shift.
Pausing is an interruption of what was.
It takes time to end one relationship and be emotionally available and ready for the next.
And time to ground yourself & develop new skills before making a career switch.
None of that stuff happens overnight.
Even when it seems that way for some people, I guarantee there's been a long and thoughtful process, with tiny tweaks and little steps leading up to the more visible moments of action.
You're still moving even if it seems like you're standing still.
Sitting with discomfort and allowing yourself to internally process change is important.
Stay present to the discomfort. Get familiar with the internal pangs and longing. Let them guide you toward next steps.
Know that you're not stuck - you're just in transition.
If if you allow yourself to be present to what is, this period will continue to evolve.
The Self Awareness Workshop begins November 13. In this 6 week workshop, we'll work together to get more deeply in touch with our own patterns, bodies, and to develop greater self-compassion and resilience to help you walk more confidently in the direction your intuition is called you toward.
Small group lead by me, and the last time I'll be running this workshop!
