The nervous system is responsible for sensation, movement, thought, & response to the environment. It connects to organs, regulating body functions. The human body’s ability to heal itself is truly amazing. Chiropractic care aims to facilitate this process by improving transmission of nerve signals. This is done through adjustments that realign the vertebrae, taking pressure off the nerves and allowing effective nerve communication. Chiropractic care unlocks the body’s innate ability to function optimally and heal itself.

Some awesome info about arthritis. Even though most people believe it is their sole source of pain, science tells us that a lot of asymptomatic people have it. Why do some hurt and others not-simply because their nervous systems are sensitized.

Reduce the sensitivity reduce the pain!

Healthy, asymptomatic joints often show signs of osteoarthritis.

This can lead to unnecessary treatments including surgery. This happened to a dear patient of ours.

She had knee pain, her Dr sent her for an X-ray which revealed an OA hip. She soon received a hip replacement. It did not go well and left a very able bodied active senior wheelchair bound.

Completely useless surgery, which led to a catastrophic outcome.

Pain is a nervous system response to a chemical irritant-not necessarily a biproduct tissue damage.

Abstract: It has been recognized that imaging findings associated with osteoarthritis (OA) are common in asymptomatic healthy joints, including the knee,1 hip2 and spine3,4 as shown in Fig. 1. These incidental imaging findings, if not interpreted in the appropriate clinical context, may result in unnecessary and possibly harmful additional imaging tests and treatments.5 In addition, when an osteoarthritic joint is symptomatic, the extent of radiographic markers of OA does not always correlate well with the severity of patient symptoms. As is the case in all areas of medical imaging, OA management should not be dictated by imaging results alone.6 Despite these limitations, imaging continues to be frequently used in the investigation of clinically suspected OA, with resultant resource implications and potential for delays in commencing management. The 2022 National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance recommended that there is no evidence to support the use of imaging in addition to clinical assessment for people with typical initial clinical presentations with OA.7
