Issues with eye teaming, tracking, and/or focusing are very common in adult and pediatric patients, and commonly go undetected or misdiagnosed. “20/20” vision simply refers to the distance that one can see. It is not uncommon to have ‘perfect’ vision, but struggle with teaming, tracking, or focusing. It is important to remember that vision screenings (usually done by pediatricians) may not identify issues such as these, which could result in your child seeing words like those pictured below.
This issues are often associated with symptoms such as:
-switching letters/words
-eyes turning inward/outward
-inability to see up close/far away
-jerky eye movements
-inability to track
-issues interpreting what the eyes see
-difficulty copying words
-poor handwriting
If any of these look or sounds familiar to you- you could be suffering from an oculomotor issue! Call Vision Performance Center at Paper Mill @ 770-668-9289 to schedule an evaluation today!
