The Georgia Council on Substance Abuse (GCSA) congratulates Attorney General Chris Carr and the bi-partisan coalition of attorneys general for their leadership in the $573 million settlement with one of the world’s largest consulting firms, McKinsey & Company, resolving investigations into the company’s role in working for opioid sellers. McKinsey & Co. helped companies promote their drugs, and essentially profited greatly from the opioid epidemic.

Georgia will receive $16,790,458.14 from the multi-state settlement. This is the first multi-state opioid settlement to result in substantial payment to the states to address the epidemic.
