WRITTEN BY A COP:
Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this. It may save your life or a loved one's life. In daylight hours, refresh yourself of these things to do in an emergency situation... This is for you, and for you to share with your wife, your children, & everyone you know. After reading these 9 crucial tips, forward them to someone you care about. It never hurts to be careful in this crazy world we live in.

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do :The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do!

2. Learned this from a tourist guide. If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse,....... DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM.
Toss it away from you... Chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse.
AND RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy.. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives.

4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc.)... DON'T DO THIS!
The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your HEAD and tell you where to go.
AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE..

If someone is in the car with a gun to your head
DO NOT DRIVE OFF....... Repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF!!!!
Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it.
As soon as the car crashes......BAIL OUT AND RUN!!!!
It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot, or parking garage:
A.) BE AWARE... look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor and in the back seat.
B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door.
Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.
C.) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side.. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out.
IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY.
(And better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot.
This is especially true at NIGHT!)

7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN!
The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; and even then,
it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN!!!!
Preferably in a zig -zag pattern!

8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP!!!
It may get you r***d or killed.
(Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked 'for help' into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next VICTIM).

9. Another Safety Point:
Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last and because it was late and she thought it was weird..She called the police.
The police told her 'Whatever you do, DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR!
The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a windrow and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, do not open the door.' He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby.. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night.

10. Water scam!
If you wake up in the middle of the night to hear all your taps outside running or what you think is a burst pipe.....
DO NOT GO OUT TO INVESTIGATE!
These people turn on all your outside taps full blast so that you will go out to investigate and then attack.

Stay alert, keep safe, and look out for your neighbors!

I'd like you to forward this to all the women you know.
It may save a life.
I was going to send this to the ladies only but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc.... You may want to pass it onto them.
Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this. It may save your life or a loved one's life.

They’ve added Balance & Eyes to FAST

A stroke occurs when a blood vessel in the brain is blocked or bursts. Since the brain needs a constant supply of blood and oxygen from the blood vessels, brain cells can be injured within minutes of a stroke.

Knowing the warning signs – and seeking care immediately if they appear – can save someone’s life and help limit permanent injury.

Good info for this 4th of July Independence Day

The 4th of July is right around the corner - celebrate safely with these helpful tips on fireworks:

🎆 Only use fireworks away from people, houses, and flammable materials.
🎆 Never point or throw fireworks at another person.
🎆 Only light one device at a time and maintain a safe distance after lighting.
🎆 Young children should not handle fireworks, and older children should only handle fireworks under close adult supervision.
🎆 Keep a bucket of water nearby to fully extinguish used fireworks.

Sparklers are more dangerous than most people think. They burn extremely hot, and can quickly ignite clothing. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), sparklers alone account for more than 25% of ER visits for fireworks injuries. Consider using safer alternatives such as glow sticks.

Have a great 4th of July!

According to the National Weather Service. The highest risk area (in the darkest orange on the impact graphic): *up to 0.25" of ice in addition to 2-5" of snow*, with locally higher amounts possible in the higher elevations. ⠀

This is a difficult and ever evolving forecast so please continue to monitor the forecast. ⠀

■ Before Winter Weather⠀
• A storm can occur when family members are in different places, so develop a family communications plan.⠀
• Make a Ready kit for at least three days of self-sufficiency.⠀
• Familiarize yourself with the terms that are used to identify winter weather.⠀
• Keep space heater safety in mind: Use electric space heaters with automatic shut-off switches and non-glowing elements. Remember to keep all heat sources at least three feet away from furniture and drapes.⠀

■ Prepare your home:⠀
• Make sure your home is well insulated and that you have weather stripping around your doors and window sills to keep the warm air inside.⠀
• Make sure you have a working carbon monoxide detector.⠀
• If you have a wood burning fireplace, consider storing wood to keep you warm if winter weather knocks out your heat. Also, make sure you have your chimney cleaned and inspected every year.⠀

■ Have at least one of the following heat sources in case the power goes out:⠀
• Extra blankets, sleeping bags and warm winter coats⠀
• Fireplace or wood-burning stove with plenty of dry firewood, or a gas log fireplace⠀
• Kerosene heater, with proper ventilation.

We have been seeing some consistent signals in model guidance over the past day or so which indicate the potential for winter weather late Saturday through late Sunday. Right now, the mode of the precipitation type and amounts remain too early to determine, given several ingredients that have to come together in order to make an accurate determination.

In the meantime, keep potential impacts in mind and be prepared, just in case. Keep checking the forecast over the coming days, as we are always updating it with the latest information (see our local website - weather.gov/ffc).

A new law requires drivers to give cyclists space on Georgia roads.

The new law not only says to give cyclists 3 feet but requires:
* If there's an available lane, you are required to get over
* You can now cross a double yellow or white line to give three feet of space
* If you can't cross the line because of oncoming traffic, you must slow down at least 10 miles per hour when passing.

Motorists Passing Cyclists: "3-Feet-Law"
§ 40-6-56 (as of July 1, 2021) (a) The operator of a motor vehicle approaching a bicycle shall approach the bicycle with due caution and shall proceed as follows:

1) Make a lane change into a lane not adjacent to the bicycle if possible in the existing
road and traffic conditions; or (2) If a lane change under paragraph (1) of this subsection would be impossible, prohibited by law, or unsafe, reduce the speed of the motor vehicle to a reasonable and proper speed for the existing road and traffic conditions, which speed shall be at least ten miles per hour less than the posted speed limit or 25 miles per hour, whichever is more, and proceed around the bicycle with at least three feet between such vehicle and the bicycle at all times.

Keep an eye on the weather tonight but I think it’s going to be a nice evening for the most part.
EYE SEE some of you are curious about this picture of a human eye. I am glad to see that.

The human eye is the gateway to one of our five senses. The human eye is an organ that reacts with light. It allows light perception, color vision and depth perception. A normal human eye can see about 10 million different colors!

Contrary to what you might think, the human eye is not a perfect sphere, but is made up of two differently shaped pieces, the cornea and the sclera. These two parts are connected by a ring called the limbus. The part of the eye that is seen is the iris, which is the colorful part of the eye. In the middle of the iris is the pupil, the black dot that changes size. The cornea covers these elements, but is transparent. The fundus is on the opposite of the pupil, but inside the eye and can not be seen without special instruments. The optic nerve is what conveys the signals of the eye to the brain. It is just incredible engineering !
