The Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority

The Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority The FDHA focuses on promoting the general health of the community and advocating for the indigent.

As Owners of the Grady Health System, the FDHA (the "Authority") works to eliminate health disparities in the metro Atlanta by serving as a resource for individuals and families seeking information and access to quality health services in Fulton and DeKalb counties. We also work by assisting metro Atlanta public health professionals in overcoming barriers that may prevent them from providing needed care.

On Saturday 8/16/2025, The CHA Team proudly hosted and facilitated orientation for our first core training for Community Health Workers! For this specific cohort, we have partnered with Morehouse School of Medicine, Innovation Learning Lab to offer a Young Adult Mental Health Worker (YAMHW) training to 7 students, aged 17-24. The orientation was insightful and exciting. The students came eager to learn with questions and vigor. Each student was assigned an FDHA CHA as a mentor. We are on our way to sharing our knowledge and teaching how community health and mental health work together!

Friday 8/15/2025 - The CHAs attended the ARCHI meeting with the focus on Youth Mental Health in our community. We had the pleasure to hear from the lived experience of Marquis Hill. He is a 20-year-old inspirational speaker, author, and youth mental health advocate. He suffered in silence until he was introduced to a teacher in high school who taught him confidence and the courage to speak up.

Journaling isn’t just putting pen to paper—it’s like a personal gym for your brain. Here’s what happens when you do it regularly:

Dump the mental clutter: Brain feeling messy? Journaling clears the chaos so you can think sharp.

Mood booster: Vent, celebrate, or simply reflect—your journal is a safe space that lifts your spirits.

Stress whisperer: Writing out worries can shrink anxiety and turn overwhelming thoughts into manageable plans.

Mind detective: Track patterns in your moods and behaviors, and discover insights you never noticed.

Creativity unlock: Freeing your thoughts on paper sparks new ideas and fresh perspectives.
