Today is the final day of , and I’ve taken the pledge to Commit to Care.
As a family physician, caring for people living with obesity is not just part of my work — it is part of my mission.
Over the years, through training, patient experiences, and continued learning, my perspective has deepened. I have become even more passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centered, personalized care for individuals living with obesity.
Obesity is a complex, chronic disease influenced by biology, genetics, environment, and lifestyle. Yet many people still face stigma, judgment, and barriers to accessing the care they deserve.
That is why I proudly took the Commit to Care Pledge — to advocate for accessible, affordable, evidence-based, and compassionate obesity care.
In my practice, I believe in:
• Person-first language that respects dignity
• Individualized care, because no two health journeys are the same
• Whole-person wellness — addressing body, mind, and environment
• Partnering with patients, not blaming them
Everyone deserves to feel supported, understood, and empowered in their health journey.
Today, before Obesity Care Week ends, I invite you to join me and the and in signing the pledge and standing up for compassionate obesity care. The link is in the comments.
Together, we can change the conversation and improve care for millions.
