This Older Americans Month, GGS is flipping the script on aging by elevating one of the most powerful tools for growth at every stage of life: mentorship.

Who needs a mentor? Everyone.

Whether you’re just starting your career, transitioning fields, preparing for retirement, or stepping into leadership, having a mentor—or being one—can make all the difference. Mentorship isn’t just for students or young professionals. It’s a lifelong asset that helps us navigate challenges, gain perspective, and seize new opportunities.

At GGS, our mentorship program is built for professionals in aging and gerontology across all stages of their career. Whether you're mid-career, returning to school, launching a business, or preparing for graduation—this is for you.

As we celebrate 70 years of advancing the field of aging in Georgia, we invite you to participate in our Annual Mentorship Event, taking place Monday, July 14th at Château Élan during the GGS Annual Conference.

Submit your mentor or mentee application by Friday, May 23rd so we can build thoughtful, meaningful matches in time for the event.

We honor the outstanding contributions of educators, certified nursing assistants, social workers, physicians, senior center directors, elected officials, older adults, volunteers, elder law attorneys, and all those who champion aging.
