Formerly known as Hammad, Platner, & Charles-May MD, we are excited to transition to our new name Old Fourth Ward Pediatrics. Dr. W. David Hammad, Dr. Robert Platner, and Dr. Becca Philipsborn staff the office. Our 3 board certified physicians maintain hospital privileges at Atlanta Medical Center and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. The office also employs certified pediatric nurse practitioner Tennisha Williams CPNP, and physician's assistant Michelle Davis-Watts PAC. Services provided:
Well care - newborn exam, physicals, ("checkups"), sports exams, vaccinations, hearing & vision screens, developmental screens, TB skin testing, ear piercing

Sick visits within the realm of general pediatrics including but not limited to evaluation and treatment of children with fever, colic, jaundice, pink eye, croup, eczema, urinary tract infections, headache, ringworm, ear infections, sore throat, asthma, allergies, skin problems, behavior problems, Attention Deficit, adolescent medicine, GI problems, prematurity, developmental issues, chest pain, growth problems, endocrine problems, musculo-skeletal issues and more. Lab Services
In office: hemoglobin, urinalysis, rapid strep, rapid influenza screen, mono test, pregnancy test, blood sugar, lipid panel
At Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp: Lead screening, allergy testing, blood count, iron studies, comprehensive metabolic panel, thyroid tests, celiac screen, bilirubin, STD screening, drug screen, and much more

We refer to pediatric subspecialists affiliated with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Please talk to your provider about your vaccine safety concerns!

We are thrilled to welcome our newest provider - Ashley Hall CPNP. Ashley grew up in Riverdale, GA. She graduated from the University of Florida, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education and Behavior and Nursing. She earned her Masters of Nursing at Georgia State University. Her passion for pediatrics started in college and while working 5 years on the mother baby unit as a nurse at Northside Hospital Atlanta. She loves working with all age groups and is also a Certified Breastfeeding Champion (CBC certified).
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and Pilates. She is excited about serving and educating the families of Old Fourth Ward Pediatrics.
