The Medicare Audiology Access Improvement Act, S.1996, has been introduced into the U.S. Senate. We are going to get this important legislation for hearing healthcare passed this time. Read more to see what you can do to help!

📣 Big news from Capitol Hill!

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), American Academy of Audiology (AAA), and Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) are proud to announce the introduction of the Medicare Audiology Access Improvement Act (S. 1996) in the U.S. Senate!

👏 A huge thank you to Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Rand Paul (R-KY), and Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) for leading the charge to improve access to audiology care for Medicare Part B beneficiaries.

🔹 What the bill does:
✅ Eliminates pre-treatment order requirements—saving seniors time and money
✅ Allows audiologists to be reimbursed for all Medicare-covered services they are licensed to provide
✅ Reclassifies audiologists as "practitioners" under Medicare—paving the way for permanent telehealth access beyond September 30, 2025

Together, we’re breaking down barriers to care and ensuring seniors can get the audiology services they need—when they need them most. Let’s get this bill across the finish line! 💪 Learn more here: https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/1996?s=1&r=1

If you have a hearing loss, here are a few tips to consider when taking your next flight. These can be very helpful, even if you don't have a hearing loss, but especially if you do and if you wear hearing aids.

As a person with hearing loss, you can alert the airline to this at the point of booking, or before you fly. This is usually covered in a special assistance section of the booking, or you can email the airline and let them know.

We love our patients at The Audiology Center of Snellville! So today we had a Patient Appreciation Day to thank our patients for choosing us for their hearing healthcare needs.

We had a great turnout. Attendees were treated with Ethiopian coffee from Chibo Coffee, and an assortment of donuts from Snellville Donut King. Each patient also received a canvas gift bag designed by Sweet Intentions Shop LLC with some special items inside.

Thank you to everyone for coming out to spend some time with us and each other. We appreciate you!
