๐ What is an RBT? ๐
You may have heard the term RBT but aren't quite sure what it means. Let's break it down!
RBT stands for Registered Behavior Technician โ someone who works directly with individuals (often kids) to help teach important life skills and reduce challenging behaviors. RBTs are part of the team in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and are usually working with individuals on the autism spectrum but they can support people with a variety of developmental or behavioral needs.
๐ง What does an RBT do?
* Works 1-on-1 with clients
* Follows a plan made by a supervising BCBA (thatโs the lead behavior analyst)
* Teach communication, social, and daily living skills
* Tracks progress and celebrates all the wins (big and small!)
* Support families and caregivers through consistent, compassionate care
RBTs are trained, nationally certified, and seriously dedicated to making a positive difference in peopleโs lives. ๐
Whether theyโre helping a child communicate for the first time or supporting someone through a difficult transition, RBTs are making a real impact every single day.
