Our Mission:

Our laboratory investigates the influence of midlife vascular risk factors on Alzheimer's Disease. We develop observational & clinical trials in hopes of reducing Alzheimer's Disease in people most at risk, including individuals with a parental history of Alzheimer's Disease and African Americans. Areas of investigation include:

Understanding the contribution of midlife vascular ris

k factors in Alzheimer's Disease and developing vascular interventions to target the most relevant Alzheimer's Disease biomarkers including beta amyloid accumulation and cerebral hypoperfusion in individuals at high risk for Alzheimer's Disease. Testing whether certain blood pressure medications pe*****te the brain and act on Alzheimer's Disease biomarkers, thereby potentially reducing Alzheimer's Disease risk. Testing potential racial differences in the way that blood pressure medications pe*****te the brain and potentially influence Alzheimer's Disease risk.
