Do you or someone you love suffer with Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation or Diarrhea (IBS-C/IBS-D)? Never fear, there is help for you. Diet and nutrition are key to complete recovery.

Eating a variety of high fiber fresh, organic fruits and vegetables of all colors can aid your digestive issues.

Drink warm or hot liquids with meals.

Putting cold and ice on any part of the body will immediately constrict the flow of blood to that region. Similarly, drinking cold or iced drinks with meals will hinder the natural peristaltic movements of the digestive system.

Chew food completely and thoroughly. The digestive tract can process and absorb smaller pieces of food much better than food that is incompletely chewed. Larger pieces of food can lead to incomplete digestion and digestive discomfort.

Give the body two to three hours between the last meal of the day and bedtime.

During sleep, the digestive system slows down as well. Make sure the body has adequate time to digest the food before going into sleep mode.
Avoid fast food, processed foods, junk food, artificial sugars, and carbonated drinks.

Stay away from meat, greasy food, alcohol, caffeine, dairy products (except for unsweetened low-fat yogurt), tap water, iron supplements, and vegetables and fruits with pesticides.

Always eat breakfast. According to the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clock, the most optimal time for the digestive system is in the morning from 8 to 10 a.m.

Call The Point of Health for a FREE 15-MINUTE consultation to learn how we can help put you on the right track for good GI health. (678) 748-9481.

Did you know there were different types of headaches?

And did you know where the pain is located explains the root cause of the pain?

If you feel bands of pain tightening around your head, you are experiencing a tension headache which is caused by stress, anxiety, fatigue and/or lack of sleep.

Throbbing pain on one side of the head? Sensitivity to light? Nausea? More than likely you are getting hit with a migraine. This type of headache is more common in women. Migraines are triggered by a variety of factors such as hormones, weather, stress, foods, and more.

Does your face hurt all in and around your sinuses? Are you scared your head is going to explode when you bend over? You’ve probably already guessed it’s a sinus headache. Make sure you’re seen by a health professional to rule out infection and get treated with antibiotics.

If you’re experiencing an occipital neuralgia, the pain is in the back of your head and in your neck. This type of headache is usually caused by another condition or illness.

Cluster headaches are incredibly intense sudden pain in/around the eye and/or one side of the head. It’s like getting stabbed in the eye with a toothpick. Cluster headaches last from weeks to months. It’s not clearly known what causes them to occur.

Knowing the location of your headache not only tells you the type of headache you are experiencing, but it also indicates how to treat them.

Acupuncture can take away the headaches and give you your life back.

Never been to an acupuncturist? No worries.
