Catherine D. Hoort, Juris Doctor, Board Certified Hypnotherapist
I have had a deep curiosity for how the mind works ever since I was a teenager. This fascination guided my choice in obtaining a bachelor of science degree in psychology with a minor in physiology. I worked for several years as an effective social worker, counselor and then went on to earn my doctorate degree in law. After many years as a successful attorney and adjunct professor of law, I came back to my roots by obtaining advanced training in hypnosis. I attended a state-licensed school in Albuquerque, New Mexico which requires 300 hours of supervised training by professionals. Both an oral and written exam must be passed to qualify, and participants must prove that they have a solid grasp of both basic and advanced hypnosis techniques. I am certified by the Hypnotherapy Academy of America and I am a Fellow of the International Board of Hypnotherapists. Both associations require that their members adhere to a Code of Ethics and keep their skills current with annual training.
