May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time that plays a vital role in promoting understanding and compassion for individuals affected by mental illness. By raising awareness, educating ourselves, and fostering supportive communities, we can work towards a society where everyone has access to the care they need to thrive. This month, we invite you to promote mental health awareness in your own life and community.

Together, we can create a world where mental health is recognized, valued, and supported. Let’s make this Mental Health Awareness Month a time of reflection, action, and hope. 🧠🌿🤍

New Year’s Resolutions are a great idea, but far too many of us make them when the clock strikes midnight without taking the time to think about realistic and attainable goals. When meeting with patients and their families, we focus a lot on goal setting.  At first, the goals are often too broad or too general to really be achievable.  A goal that is often heard is “I want my child to be happy” or “I don’t want my child to be anxious anymore.” These are great goals, but what do they actually mean?

When parents identify broad goals, you can explore with them attainable objectives using SMART goals. SMART is an old acronym that continues to be useful in guiding goal setting and generally leads to better outcomes. If you or a loved one is struggling with a mental health issue and do not know where to start, it could be helpful to talk to a mental health professional. Talk to us! We are here to help. 🎊 www.intownpsych.com
