🧐 Plantar fasciitis is the inflammation of the fascia that exists in the sole of the foot. It can be caused by repetitive moves like jumping or prolonged standing or walking.

📢 The most common complaint is pain in the sole of the foot upon walking on it. It is also common to have it in both feet.

🔍 Diagnosis is clinical, but sometimes your doctor might use some tests to rule out other reasons if needed.

🏥 Treatment is conservative with anti-inflammatories and specific exercises and shoewear adjustments, with only few cases requiring further intervention such as injection or surgery.

🔍Wrist fracture happens mostly in elderly patients after a simple fall. In this case, it can be due to decreased bone density. Younger individuals can also suffer from such fracture, however it usually happens following high-energy trauma, such as a car accident.

🧐 Diagnosis is through history and physical exam, followed by Xrays of the wrist that show the fracture of the distal radius. Fracture complexity can affect management decisions.

🏥 Some fractures can be treated with a cast, some with closed reduction and cast, and some with some surgical intervention, whether percutaneous or open techniques depending on the fracture morphology.

✅️ Prognosis is usually good if the proper treatment is followed, keeping in mind that arthritis can be the long-term "reminder" in some cases.

Any suspicion of a wrist fracture following even the mildest fall? Get it checked.

The ISASS 2025 3-day conference, held on the Society’s 25th anniversary, was a phenomenal event that brought together spine experts from around the world. I’m grateful for the opportunity to attend, connect with leaders in the field, and learn from both them and the growing body of research.

One of the highlights was the special session featuring many past presidents and leading committee members of ISASS (formerly SAS). It served as a powerful reminder that scientific progress begins with vision and strong foundations, and is sustained by consistency and commitment.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. and the organizing committee for hosting such a successful event and for having me as one of the newest members.

And a special thanks to the role models in endoscopic spine surgery who continue to advocate for better outcomes with the least invasiveness—just to name a few: Dr. Ralf Wagner, Dr. , Dr. .raygardocki , and Dr. .

Looking forward to seeing you all again at the 2026 conference!
