At a young age, Chief Amachi became the first African-American to visit the village of Koako, Tamale (Northern Ghana) and gain access to African indigenous knowledge under the tutelage of Chief Apetor Buaru and other tribal African shamans. During his studies, Chief Amachi was implored by the chief of warriors to return to the West and share this knowledge with the descendants of Africans in America. The elder conveyed to him that the wisdom and culture would be lost unless he accepted the mission to preserve, disseminate and reconnect Africans in the Diaspora to the traditions of their ancestral land. It was clear to the elder and Amachi that in order for Africans to survive world-wide, Africa’s children in the West would have to be taught the indigenous ways of their ancestors before the traditions were allowed to fade out of existence forever. So imperative was this goal, that Chief Amachi was told that if he didn’t take this responsibility, he would no longer be able to study with the elder in the village. Recognizing the great gift and obligation of this calling, Chief Amachi humbly accepted the title of Amachi Amaga Apetor Wunana – The Controller Holder of The Dwarfs and Wulana successor of Chief Apetor Buaru with the duty to address the cultural void in the West and spread the knowledge of Timm and Bukataa “traditional medicine, magic and the spirits of protection and the world soul and spirit powers of the earth”. All spiritual products made by IIKDS connect to the casual forces, spirit, minds, and mentalities in nature resulting in experiences that may produce seen or unseen spiritual phenomenology, synchronicity, conscious awareness and insight. All spiritual products made by IIKDS are made with ingredients hand-collected from nature – roots, sticks, leaves and other organic material, based on the the science of Timm (traditional medicine, magic) and Bukataa (the world soul and spirit powers of the earth). Spiritual products may be created locally or crafted by elders in the International Association of Traditional Healers, imported and sent to each client. All spiritual items created locally are produced by the Mantambo/Tambo Shrines (the headquarter shrines of IIKDS) where they are prepared with ritual purification, prayers and personal care.
