A client came in with severe hip tightness that was affecting posture and making it harder to walk comfortably. The quads and hamstrings were extremely tight, the calves were sensitive with trigger points, and the muscles along the front of the shin were pulling enough to cause occasional calf spasms. There was also a lot of tension around the knee from the quadriceps being so restricted.
Sina understood how discouraging it can feel when tightness starts getting in the way of normal movement. He created a clear plan to loosen the deep hip muscles and release the strain running through the front and back of the legs. Work around the knee helped ease the pulling from the quads, and focused pressure and stretching helped calm the calf spasms and relax the lower leg. Releasing the tight muscles along the shin supported smoother movement in the ankle and foot.
Sina also noticed that the clientโs upper body was tense from long hours at a computer, which will be addressed in future sessions to support better overall posture.
With continued sessions, deeper hip work and psoas release can improve mobility even further, while gentle stretching and compression around the calves and Achilles can help the legs stay loose and comfortable between visits.
