A patient came in feeling frustrated.
They were doing everything they thought they should between sessions:
stretching daily, foam rolling aggressively, searching YouTube for โfixes,โ pushing through discomfort because they didnโt want to lose progress.
But instead of improving, their symptoms kept flaring.
When we talked it through, the issue became clear:
they werenโt doing the wrong things โ they were just doing too much.
Adapt to new input
โข Let tissues settle
โข Rebuild coordination and trust in movement
We adjusted the plan:
โข Less intensity
โข More awareness
โข Simpler movement
โข Clearer boundaries around pain
Symptoms calmed. Movement felt easier. Progress actually started to stick.
This is a pattern we see often.
Between sessions isnโt about effort โ itโs about supporting change.
At Bodymedics, part of our job is helping patients understand when to act and when to let the body do its work.
If you feel like youโre doing all the โright thingsโ but not seeing progress, a clinical perspective can help clarify what actually supports recovery.
