Day 2 of Cadaver Lab did not disappoint!
Highlights:
I was responsible for dissection of my guy’s posterior shoulder and neck area (deltoid, trapezius, levator scap, infraspinatus, rhomboid)
Then onto the triceps! I found the main nerves in the arm (radial, ulnar & medial) and followed their path to the hand and fingers. Seeing along the way all the places these nerves can easily get entrapped causing pain, numbness or tingling in the elbow, wrist, hand and fingers.
We found all things glute!
Max, med, min, that pesky piriformis and quadratus femoris.
We got a good look at the sciatic nerve, occipital nerves and facial nerves too!
Todays bonus discoveries included lipomas, swollen lymph nodes, adhesions, a kidney (we were told all organs had been removed, most likely for transplants), screws and brackets for lower lumbar surgery and hardware to repair a broken hip!
It was a big day!
Tomorrow is Pelvic Floor day!
I’m exhausted … and, I can’t wait !!
