Spending time outdoors is great for your health, but tick exposure can carry risks.

Lyme disease often starts with a rash that may look like a bullseye and flu-like symptoms such as fatigue or fever. Many people never see the tick that caused it.

The good news? Early treatment is highly effective. If you’ve recently had outdoor exposure and notice symptoms, don’t wait.

Gonorrhea can cause noticeable symptoms or none at all.

In some cases, this common STI can spread through the bloodstream and affect other parts of the body. This serious complication is called Disseminated Gonorrhea (DGI).

DGI can cause joint pain and swelling, fever, skin rash, and, in severe cases, may require hospitalization and IV antibiotics. While it’s less common, it’s a reminder that untreated gonorrhea doesn’t always stay localized.

Gonorrhea remains one of the most frequently reported STIs in the U.S., with about 1.6 million new infections each year. With rising antibiotic resistance, early detection and proper treatment are more important than ever.

Testing and treatment can prevent complications like infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease, and systemic spread.

If you’re experiencing joint pain, fever, unusual symptoms, or anything that doesn’t feel right after possible exposure, don’t wait. Get evaluated. Many insurance plans accepted and sliding fee scale available.

Yeast infections, medically known as candidiasis (candida overgrowth), are common, but that doesn’t mean your symptoms should be ignored.

About 3 in 4 women will experience a yeast infection at least once in their lifetime, and nearly half will have two or more episodes. While they’re common, recurring or persistent symptoms aren’t something you have to simply deal with.

Antibiotics, high blood sugar, hormonal changes, and even tight clothing can disrupt your body’s natural balance and increase your risk. When symptoms keep coming back or aren’t improving, it’s your body’s way of telling you it’s time to check in.

At AvitaCare Atlanta, we make it simple. With same-day testing and an on-site pharmacy, you can get evaluated, receive answers, and start treatment all in one visit.

Don’t wait it out or rely on guesswork. If you’re experiencing symptoms, schedule an appointment today and get the relief you deserve. Many insurance plans accepted and sliding fee scale available.

Atherosclerosis is plaque buildup in the arteries, and it often develops silently over time.

This buildup is made of fat, cholesterol, and other substances that can narrow or block blood flow. As arteries harden, the risk of heart attack, stroke, and peripheral artery disease often increase without noticeable symptoms until a serious event occurs.

Here in Georgia, heart disease remains the leading cause of death, accounting for about 1 in every 3 deaths each year, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health. Many of these cases are linked to preventable or manageable risk factors associated with atherosclerosis.

Regular primary care visits play a critical role in prevention. Monitoring blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, and overall heart health helps identify concerns early before complications develop.

Early detection saves lives.

Book your appointment with AvitaCare Atlanta today and take a proactive step toward protecting your heart. ❤️ Many insurance plans accepted and sliding fee scale available.

Protection is an important part of sexual health, but routine testing is essential.

According to the CDC, many STIs don’t always cause noticeable symptoms, which means people may not know they have one without testing. At AvitaCare Atlanta, we offer confidential, judgment-free STI testing, with walk-in HIV and STI testing available Monday–Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. No appointment needed.

Motivation fades. Healthy routines keep you going.

Here’s how to stay consistent when you don’t feel motivated and support your heart along the way:

1️⃣ Habit stack
Attach new habits to ones you already do.
A short walk after meals.
Deep breaths while getting dressed.
No extra willpower needed.

2️⃣ Track 7 days at a time
Journal, calendar, or simple checklist.
Seeing progress helps you stick with heart-healthy habits.

3️⃣ Weekly reflection
No judgment, just awareness.
Miss a day? Adjust and keep moving.

Consistency matters more than motivation, especially for heart health.

💙 Save this for the days motivation disappears.
